Top critics gave new Machete movie positive reviews. 20th Century Fox released their new,intense action flick “Machete’ into theaters today,and overall, the top movie critics seemed to be pretty pleased with it,giving it mostly B ratings across the board. The movie stars: Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson, and Steven Seagal.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it an A- rating. He said, “wit, moviemaking skill, and a cast to die for.” Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a C. He said, “It wears out its welcome, though, long before la revolucion and sequels are promised.”

Luke Y Thompson at E! Online gave it a B-. He said, “there’s enough bloodshed and babe-itude here to satisfy the voracious viewer.” Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. He stated, “see Machete for Trejo, who barely cracks a smile, or even an emotion, but makes grade-Z stoic invincibility cool again.”

Chris Cabin at Filmcritic.com gave it a C-. He said, “the director’s most dull, self-satisfied and shallow film to date.” Frank Scheck at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a B. He said, “Robert Rodriguez returns to the grindhouse with this entertainingly over-the-top, ultraviolent exploitationer.”

Kyle Smith at the New York Post gave it a B-. He said, “with his weatherbeaten face and ironclad expressions, Trejo is the real thing,an undocumented Clint Eastwood.” Stephen Holden at the New York Times gave it a B. He said, “The pace is swift, the tone playful, the screenplay peppered with one-liners.”

Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it a B-. He said, “a digital gorefest.” Amy Biancolli at the San Francisco Chronicle gave it a C-. She stated, “If the idea is to capitalize on exploitative B flicks, consider the job done. But if the idea is to satirize them, to bring some cutting wit into the mix of blood and race and sex, then its blade is far too dull.”
