New ‘Broken City’ Movie Delivered Lots Of Intense Drama,Action & More

New ‘Broken City’ movie delivered lots of intense drama, action & more. 20th Century Fox released their new action/drama flick “Broken City” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was pretty ok. I managed to stay awake through most of it as it did have a lot of downtime/dull moments, but when the action picked up,it was hot. The movie stars: Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Barry Pepper, and Kyle Chandler.

In the new flick, character Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) has a promising career as a New York City cop until he gets involved in a controversial shooting one night, and gets stripped of his badge. He’s kept out of jail by New York’s popular Mayor (Russell Crowe), and starts up a private investigator business.

Eventually, Billy gets offered $50,000 dollars from the Mayor to investigate an affair his wife is having, and to get candid photos of the cheating action while it’s going down. However,it eventually turns out to be more to the Mayor’s scheme than meets the eye.

The campaign manager Paul Andrews is the guy the Mayor’s wife is cheating with, and he comes up dead, prompting Billy to do some further investigating of the Mayor. It eventually leads him to finding out the Mayor had a hit contract out on Paul ,and had him murdered.

Unfortunately, when Billy tries to present the evidence to the Mayor,he finds out that the Mayor has exclusive footage of Billy’s shooting murder from earlier on that could land him in prison. This leads to a huge conclusion that left Billy with tough decision of losing his own freedom if he tried to take down the Mayor.

Again, the movie was pretty entertaining to watch, but I did doze off quite a few times as it did have a few slow moments. However, the action really picked up towards the end,and turned out to be fairly decent. Mark Wahlberg did a great job, bringing his gritty, intense vibe to the Billy character. I gave the movie a C+ grade. Stay tuned. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here.
