Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 Just Received Extra Great News From ABC

Hey, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. We’ve got some extra great news for you guys that we think you’ll certainly enjoy hearing. Recently, the folks over at Deadline recently put out a report revealing that ABC is so pleased with the way the current season 14 is going that they decided to extend it!

That’s right. Apparently, ABC only originally ordered 22 episodes for this season, but now they’ve bumped that number up to a full 24. That means you guys can expect to get an additional two more episodes before this season is over. How do you guys feel about that? We’re sure most of you are ecstatic about it.

In addition to ABC extending out Grey’s Anatomy’s 14th season, Deadline also reported that ABC gave their hit comedy series “Black-ish” another two episodes, and they gave their show American Housewife another two episodes. That gave both of those series a total 24 episodes each. If any of you guys are fans of those shows too, that is even more great news.

Deadline also pointed out that Grey’s Anatomy has been so successful that it has consistently gotten 24 to 25 episodes for 12 of the 14 seasons it’s been on the air. The show recently enjoyed its 300th episode as a result of all of those successful seasons.

Currently, Grey’s Anatomy is doing quite well in the ratings. It has experienced a slight drop, but all shows do. They fluctuate throughout the season. Looking at the numbers for the 18-49 year old demographic, Grey’s kicked off it’s current 14th season with a 2.34 score. It has since dropped to a 1.84 score as of November 2,2017. Their score is still good though.

The show is consistently bringing in 7 to 8 million viewers per episode in the United States. 8.071 million people tuned in to watch the season 14 premiere in late September 2017. If you add Canada to that number, it’s probably another million or so people. The most recent episode 6 brought in 7.384 million USA viewers.

That’s actually the lowest amount of viewers the show has brought in so far this season. Episode 4 brought in the most at 8.078 million viewers. Despite the slight viewership drop as of late, the show is still very safe. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, these fluctuations are an expected occurrence. They happen with just about every show.
