Grey’s Anatomy Meredith Grey Star Ellen Pompeo Became A Victim Of A Crime In Italy
Hey “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. While we still wait for more season 15 information, we just found out from the people over at Bustle.com that the main star of Grey’s Anatomy Ellen Pompeo aka Meredith Grey recently fell victim to a pretty serious crime while vacationing over in Florence, Italy!
Ellen also confirmed this news on her official Instagram page which we’ll get to later on this post.The incident took place back on Friday, May 25, 2018. Apparently, Ellen had went out to have a meal. During her meal, someone tried to freaking steal her purse! Fortunately,Ellen was not harmed during this ordeal and her purse was eventually recovered with everything intact. So, she really got lucky here. It’s quite shocking that the thief wasn’t able to steal a single item after running off with her purse.
According to Ellen’s Instagram post, the thief dropped the purse on the street while trying to run off. Ellen also revealed that she was tracking her phone, looking to chase down the culprit. So, that’s pretty bold of her. Ellen thanked the police and the restaurant staff in her tweet. So, it sounds like the police were right there on the scene to give chase to whoever took her purse, causing them to drop it.

Later on, the Florence Police hit up their official Instagram account to respond to Ellen’s thankyou post. They wrote, “#Thankyou @ellenpompeo #greysanatomy

Currently, there’s no word on if the thief was ever caught. Bustle.com also mentioned that Ellen’s Italian co-star Giacomo Gianniotti who plays character Andrew DeLuca on the show hit up her comment section to offer his assistance for Ellen’s weak command of the Italian language. He wrote, “Cmon Ellen! You didn’t hit up your boy for an Italian translation? Haha I’ll be there in July and I’ll be on the prowl for your boy, he don’t stand a chance. Glad you are safe!”
Bustle.com also pointed out that before this terrible purse-snatching situation, Ellen seemed to really be enjoying her vacation in Italy. The day before on May 24, 2018, she shared an Instagram post that featured the daughters of her husband of 10 years Chris Ivery. Their names are Stella and Sienna. As previously reported, Ellen and her other Grey’s Anatomy castmates just wrapped up the 14th season of the show back in mid-May. Unfortunately, Sarah Drew aka April Kepner and Jessica Capshaw aka Arizona Robbins won’t be returning for season 15. They were laid off due to some “creative” reasons.
On May 17, 2018, Ellen took the time to write a very heartfelt message to all her fans about the rollercoaster ride of season 14 and just the show in general. She wrote, “Over the last 14 seasons I’ve cried many tears on screen and off. This show has brought me so much joy and so much laughter, but truth be told it has never been easy. This year was no different.
Saying goodbye to characters cast mates friends is always very hard regardless of the circumstances. What remains and what keeps us going is the incredible passion and loyalty of our fans. So in classic Greys Bittersweet style, we will leave you tonight with tears in your eyes and hopefully smiles on your faces. Thanks for riding with us on this rollercoaster known as Shondaland. As far as season 15 goes, all we know is that Kim Raver’s Dr. Teddy Altman character has been bumped back up to a season regular. We’re still waiting to get a season 15 premiere date from ABC. We expect that announcement to happen sometime in July 2018. Most likely, it’ll happen in late July because ABC is the slowest of all the networks to release their season premiere dates.
