‘So You Think You Can Dance’ August 19, 2019 Eliminated Eddie And Stephanie (Recap)
Hey,”So You Think You Can Dance” fans. Tonight, August 19, 2019,the first LIVE elimination show did indeed air, and two unlucky dancers got sent home at the end of it. The judges: Laurieann Gibson, Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe were all on hand to give their critiques.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the top ten dancers doing another group routine to Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” song. Their choreography was done by Travis Wall.
After that,Stephanie Sosa and Gino Cosculluela hit the stage to do a JIVE routine by choreographers Emma Slater and Sasha Farber from “Dancing With The Stars.”
Afterwards, Mary told them, “You were hitting with greatness.” Dominic told Gino, “You’re a star. Stephanie was equally amazing.”Lauriann said, “I smell greatness.” Nigel said,”Stephanie was fantastic but, all the credit goes to Gino for tonight.” Next, they revealed that Gino is safe this week, and Stephanie is in danger.
Next, Sophie Pittman and Eddie Hoyt hit the stage to do a contemporary routine by choreographer Travis Wall. Afterwards, Dominic told them, “The emotion was there as well as the chemistry.” Lauriann told Sophie, “You’re an incredible storyteller.” Lauriann told Eddie, “You brought it this week with your commitment.”
Nigel said, “Sophie was brilliant, and Eddie was there for Sophie throughout the performance.” Mary said, “Sophie is liquid gold. Eddie good on you for picking yourself up.” Then they revealed that Eddie is in danger this week, and Sophie is safe.
Anna Linstruth and Benjamin Castro arrived next to pull off a Hip-Hop routine by choreographer Randi And Hef. After their performance,Lauriann told them, “It was amazing. Benjamin’s gift is to dance. Anna, I missed you this week. I want you to step up and deliver more.”
Nigel said, “You both sparkled. I love you as a couple.” Mary said, “Benjamin knocked it out of the park.” Dominic said, “It was a phenomenal performance from both of you ,and I thank you for the commitment.” It was revealed that Benjamin is safe this week, and Anna is in danger.
Next up was Madison Jordan & Ezra Sosa. They did a Jazz routine by choreographer Ray Leeper. They performed to the song, “You Can Leave Your Hat On.” After they finished up, Nigel told them, “The chemistry was there ,and Bob Fosse would have loved Madison. The chemistry really stood out.”
Mary said,”The song is known as one of the sexiest in history ,and you both lived up to it.” Dominic said, “I loved the moment when Madison was seducing Ezra as he was sitting in the chair.” Lauriann loved the routine as well. They revealed that Ezra is in danger this week, and Madison is safe.
Mariah Russell & Bailey Munoz hopped on stage next to do a hip-hop routine by choreographer Luther Brown. Afterwards, Mary told them, “That was everything. I loved how down in the pocket you were. It’s my favorite number of the night. You’re the couple to beat.”
Dominic said, ” I was shocked by Mariah, and I felt Bailey brought the Soy Sauce.” Lauriann said, “The hip hop community will be proud of that.” Nigel said, “Bailey was strong, and Mariah was incredible. You really are the couple to beat.” It was revealed that they are both safe this week.
After all of that, Ezra,Anna,Eddie and Stephanie were the bottom 4 vote getters. The judges deliberated. They also took into account tonight’s performances, and decided to save Ezra and Anna.
