Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers For Season 16, September 26, 2019 Premiere Episode 1 Revealed
Hey, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. Yep, it’s time again for your favorite show to start back up. In light of that, we’ve got the very first set of official spoiler scoops from the wonderful ABC folks via their press release. So, we will definitely be using that for this season 16 premiere episode 1 spoiler session.
For starters, we’ve learned that the producers have labeled it, “Nothing Left To Cling To.” That’s certainly a very fitting title when you consider what has happened to a couple of characters in this episode.
It sounds like the premiere episode 1 will feature some very interesting, intense and dramatic scenes as Meredith, Richard and Alex deal with aftermath fallout. Jackson helps a man in danger. Tom gets new, shocking responsibilities and more.
We’ll go ahead and start off this spoiler session with the Meredith, Richard and Alex situation. It turns out that these three will have a lot to deal with in this episode. They’ve just gotten fired for insurance fraud, and they will definitely have to deal with the consequences of that.
ABC’s official description tells us, “Meredith, Richard and Alex must deal with the consequences after Bailey fires them from Grey Sloan for insurance fraud.” An alternate description reads like this, “MEREDITH, RICHARD AND ALEX DEAL WITH THE REPERCUSSIONS AFTER BEING FIRED FROM GREY SLOAN.”
What will their repercussions entail exactly? That’s a huge question for this particular plotline. We couldn’t find any other details about their consequences other than the obvious, but we are officially hearing that Meredith will still diagnose people around her.
Meanwhile, Alex and Richard will try to create a fresh start for themselves in episode 2. So, look out for that.
The second spoiler scoop reveals that Jackson will be caught in a literal fog at some point. In this foggy situation, there will be a man that’s in a dangerous jam. Jackson will help this man out.
We will also see Jackson and Maggie’s relationship hit what is being described as a crossroads. ABC’s description tells us, “After disappearing in the fog, Jackson helps a man in a dangerous situation as his relationship with Maggie comes to a new crossroad.”
What kind of danger will this man be in? What exactly will be happening with Jackson and Maggie’s relationship? Those are big questions for this particular storyline.
We’re going to have to wait and see what all that’s about, but we are officially hearing that Maggie is going to get her car hit by some guy who will end up needing surgery in episode 2. So, that sounds extremely intense. That should feed all of your appetites for drama. There’s no doubt about that.
Lastly, we’ve got a 3rd spoiler teaser that reveals Tom will experience a unique set of circumstances that winds up giving him new tasks at the hospital. These new tasks will definitely throw all the other doctors off! ABC’s description tells us, “Tom gets new responsibilities at the hospital that throw the doctors for a loop.”
Wow, what will these new Tom responsibilities consist of exactly? That’s the burning question for this particular situation. We couldn’t find out exactly what Tom’s new responsibilities are, but we are officially hearing that Owen will have a major problem with Tom’s new position in this episode.
So, I think that tells us a little bit about what Tom’s new job is. Look out for that intense plotline to happen in the near future.
ABC also released a new preview clip for the season 16 premiere episode. It starts off showing Meredith cleaning up trash on the street. A lady that recognizes her asks, “Dr. Grey, is this some sort of volunteer thing?” Meredith replies with, “Something like that.”
Right after that, a lady shouts at Meredith, “Get back to work before I tell the court you’re in contempt!” So, that not a good look for Meredith.
Next, the clip cuts to Bailey telling Amelia, Owen and Teddy, “due to criminal activity, Meredith Grey, Alex Carev and Richard Webber no longer work here!” Needless to say, they are shocked.

ABC also released a couple of preview photos episode 1. Alex and Richard are spotted in a few of them. So, look for those two to have a scene together. Meredith is seen hanging with Amelia in one of the photos.

Episode 1 will feature a couple of guest stars. They are: Debbie Allen as character Catherine Fox, Alex Landi as character Nico Kim, Sophia Ali as character Dahlia Qadri and Stefania Spampinato as character Carina DeLuca.
The season regulars that will be featured in episode 1 are: Ellen Pompeo as character Meredith Grey, Justin Chambers as character Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson as character Miranda Bailey, James Pickens Jr. as character Richard Webber, Kevin McKidd as character Owen Hunt, Jesse Williams as character Jackson Avery, Caterina Scorsone as character Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington as character Jo Wilson, Kelly McCreary as character Maggie Pierce, Kim Raver as character Teddy Altman, Giacomo Gianniotti as character Andrew DeLuca, Greg Germann as character Tom Koracick, Chris Carmack as character Atticus “Link” Lincoln and Jake Borelli as character Levi Schmitt.
Episode 1 was written by the showrunner Krista Vernoff, and it was directed by Catherine Fox star Debbie Allen.
ABC’s press release confirmed that episode 1 will indeed air on Thursday night, September 26, 2019 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
