‘The Rookie’ Season 2, March 29, 2020 Episode 16 Delayed. Not Airing Tonight
Hey, “The Rookie’ fans. Unfortunately, it’s one of those times again. We had to jump on here to let you guys know that ABC will not be airing the next, new episode 16 of The Rookie’s current season 2 tonight, March 29, 2020.
The good news is that this delay is not long at all. It will only be for this week. We can officially confirm that episode 16 is scheduled to air next Sunday night, April 5, 2020 in its usual 9 pm central standard time slot.
So, be sure to mark down that very important date and time on your TV show schedules or store it in your memory banks. Whichever way works best for you.
So, what is ABC airing instead of the new episode 16 of The Rookie’s current season 2 tonight? According to the TV Guide listings, ABC is airing a repeat episode of The Rookie. It’s the 11th episode of this season 2 titled, “Day of Death.”
ABC’s official description for it reads like this, “Officer Nolan and the entire team are in a desperate search to rescue Officer Chen after her abduction and must attempt to get Rosalind to help them in their search.
Meanwhile, after Officer Lopez discovers Wesley unconscious from a dangerous cocktail of alcohol and pills, she is forced to keep him close by.”
If any of you guys want to watch that repeat episode for whatever reason, you will still want to flip on ABC tonight. However, if you’re not interested in watching this repeat episode, you will most certainly want to make other plans as quick as possible.
With all of that said, we were able to track down some new info for the next, new episode 16 of The Rookie’s current season 2. ABC did serve up an official press release for it. So, we’re going to tell you all about it.
However,before we do that, we have to warn you that it does contain light spoiler teasers. So, if you’re not big on spoilers and don’t want to see them, we highly suggest that you leave this article immediately.
On the other hand, if you’re a spoiler junkie and just can’t get enough of them, we highly suggest that you stick around for the rest of this article.
Now that our spoiler warning is out of the way, let’s take a look at this new episode 16 press release. To start, it reveals that episode 16 is entitled, “The Overnight.”
It sounds like episode 16 will feature some very interesting, lively, possible scandalous, intense, action-filled and dramatic scenes.
In the new episode 16, the Los Angeles auditions of American Idol will be taking place. Someone at these auditions will place a call into the police department. Officers Bradford and Chen will respond to this call.
When they get there, Chen will end up having a run-in with the host Ryan Seacrest and the judges: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie!
Elsewhere, Chen is going to make nice with a reporter named Valerie Castillo. However, Valerie’s motives might not be on the up and up.
ABC’s official description for episode 16 reads like this, “Officers Chen and Bradford respond to a call at the Los Angeles auditions of “American Idol,” and Officer Chen ends up facing Ryan Seacrest and the judges (Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie). Meanwhile, Chen befriends reporter (Roselyn Sanchez) whose motives are not clear.”
Episode 16 will feature a couple of guest stars. They are: Ryan Seacrest as character himself, Katy Perry as character herself, Luke Bryan as character himself, Lionel Richie as character himself and Roselyn Sanchez as character Valerie Castillo.
The season regulars that will be featured in episode 16 are: Nathan Fillion as character John Nolan, Mekia Cox as character Nyla Harper, Alyssa Diaz as character Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as character Sergeant Wade Grey, Titus Makin Jr. as character Jackson West, Melissa O’Neil as character Lucy Chen and Eric Winter as character Tim Bradford.
Episode 16 was written by Rachael Seymour & Corey Miller, and it was directed by Stephanie Marquardt.
Again, ABC confirmed that the next, new episode 16 of The Rookie’s current season 2 is scheduled to air next Sunday night, April 5, 2020 at approximately 9 pm central standard time. Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
