‘Insecure’ Season 4, June 14, 2020 Episode 10 Is The Finale. Renewed For Season 5
Hey,’Insecure” fans. We are back at you with another very important report for your favorite show “Insecure.” First off, we just want to confirm that tonight’s episode is indeed the season 4 finale episode.
That’s right, guys. After episode 10 hits the airwaves tonight, June 14, 2020, that is going to be it for a while. You won’t see another Insecure episode until probably next year sometime.
The good news is that you will actually see another new Insecure episode at some point in time because we can officially confirm with you, right now, that HBO did decide to renew Insecure for a brand new season 5!
According to the folks over at TV Line, Insecure was officially renewed back in early May 2020.
During the Insecure season 5 renewal announcement, Amy Gravitt ,who is the executive vice president for HBO, had some wonderful things to say about Insecure.
She stated, “We’re thrilled that Issa, executive producer Prentice Penny, and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season. As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world.”
Currently, there is no confirmed release date for season 5. It’s also unclear how many episode season 5 will feature. If we had to guess, we would probably say it’s getting another fresh 10 episodes, but we’ll have to wait and see what HBO decides later on down the line.
Here’s what we do know for certain. We know how Insecure’s current season 4 performed ratings wise. That’s right, guys. The season 4 ratings and LIVE viewership numbers are in for, and here’s what we found out.
Season 4 of Insecure managed to average 417,000 LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.18 ratings score for the 18 to 49 year old demographics. The last episode 9, which aired last Sunday night, June 7, 2020, brought in 372,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.14 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 586,000 LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode was episode 7 with 341,000 LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.26 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 9 with a 0.14 ratings score.
I gotta say those are about average numbers for an HBO series. Possibly, even below average on some nights, but HBO seems to like it.
I’m guessing this show gets a lot of views on the HBO app and other places that aren’t tracked by the LIVE numbers.
Whatever the case, the numbers were good enough for HBO. So, Insecure will definitely be back for a new season 5. We’re guessing it will most likely premiere next Spring 2021. We’ll let you guys know a more specific date when HBO announces it.
Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “Insecure” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
