The 100 Season 7, September 30, 2020 Episode 16 Is The Series Finale. Season 8 Not Happening

Hey, “The 100” fans. We’re jumping back on here, tonight, to do one last article in honor of The 100. Tonight’s episode 16 was the last episode forever because this 7th season is indeed the very last season. The show is over forever.

This very sad news broke in August of 2019. This was not The CW’s decision. The 100 producers actually decided to end the show on their own.

Recently, the folks over at Collider.com got to ask The 100 showrunner Jason Rothenberg why they decided to end the show with season 7.

He basically thought they had did enough with this plotline that centered around one group of characters ,and he didn’t want The 100 to be a show that overstayed its welcome.

He stated, “This was where it needed to end. I don’t know if the studio and network would have let us continue into Season 8. I assume they would have. They were gracious enough to let us do 16 episodes to get to episode 100 this year. So, I assume they probably would have wanted more, but we were ready.

It’s a long time to be telling the story of one group of characters. One of the things that kept it so fresh for us, every year, was that we did change it a lot, and we introduced new people a lot. We also didn’t want to overstay our welcome and be a show that was making episodes into Season 10 and 12 and beyond just to do it.

So, it was a decision that we made, and you often don’t get to write your own ending and when you’re gonna end. That was another amazingly generous thing that the studio and network allowed.”

The 100’s last season 7 averaged 626,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.16 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

The most recent episode 15 brought in 523,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.10 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 796,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 10 with 497,000 LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 1 with a 0.24 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episodes 10 and 15. They tied with a 0.10 ratings score.

So, it seems like The 100 ended its 7 season run pretty strong for a CW show.

Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “The 100” TV show, but definitely stay tuned for more exciting news on other shows you might like.
