Lovecraft Country Season 1, October 18, 2020 Episode 10 Is The Finale. Season 2 Not Yet Confirmed
Hey,”Lovecraft Country” fans. We are back at you guys on this lovely Sunday to give you one last article for this premiere season 1 of Lovecraft Country. Tonight’s episode 10 will indeed be the finale episode of season 1.
Unfortunately, we cannot officially confirm with you guys that a new season 2 will be awarded to this series because HBO has yet to make an official renewal announcement for it.
So, what we’re going to do in this article is tell you how the LIVE ratings and viewership numbers played out for this first season 1 of Lovecraft Country. That will give us some sort of idea of what the chances are that HBO will renew it.
We can tell you, right now, that these LIVE ratings and viewership numbers don’t look shabby at all for a cable show, especially if the streaming/on-demand viewership numbers were a lot more than the LIVE numbers, which they usually are.
With that said, season 1 of Lovecraft Country managed to average 726,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.18 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.
The most recent episode 9 that aired on October 11, 2020, brought in 671,00 LIVE viewers and a 0.14 ratings score.
The highest-viewed episode was episode 2 with 867,000 LIVE viewers. The lowest-viewed episode was episode 8 with 627,000 LIVE viewers.
The lowest-rated episode was episode 4 with a 0.12 score. The highest-rated episode was episodes 1 and 2. They tied with a 0.23 ratings score.
With those numbers, it seems pretty plausible that HBO would have no problems renewing it. However, there are other factors that come in to play such as the cost of producing a show like this, which features lots of special effects and things of that nature.
That type of stuff can be pretty expensive to produce. Also, HBO might have other new shows to consider that they think could be more profitable in that same time slot and so on and so forth.
So, we’ll definitely have to wait and see what HBO determines. If we’re just talking about the LIVE ratings and viewership numbers, they look ok to me. We’ve seen other shows with similar numbers get easily renewed for new seasons.
However, those shows might not have been as expensive to produce. It’ll come down to HBO’s bottom line. With that said, cross your fingers for a new season 2.
Alright guys. That’s all we’ve got for this latest “Lovecraft Country” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
