Tough As Nails February 17, 2021 Eliminated Tara Alverson From Individual Competitions (Recap)
Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight,February 17, 2021, another new episode of Tough As Nails’ current season 2 did indeed air, and someone did get eliminated from the individual challenges in this one, which is quite a bummer because that means they lost a shot at winning the grand prize 2021 Ford F-150 and $200,000 dollars.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the team challenge. The winners of this challenge won $12,000 for their team, and a badge of honor. Whichever team collects the most badge of honors at the end of this season collects an extra, whopping $60,000 dollars for their team.
In this challenge, the teams had to collect and stack 100 lobster traps on a boat. Then strap them down for the win. The first team to complete it, won.
Merryl was chosen to be the crew boss for the Savage Crew team, and Tara was the crew boss for the Dirty Hands team. During this challenge, things got pretty rough. Dirty Hands’ Patrick aka Freight Train actually fell off the boat and into the water at one point! He was a trooper though. He shook it off and got right back to work.
When this challenge was all said and done, it was Dirty Hands that prevailed to tie up the number of team challenge wins 1-1. At one point, it was pointed out that Angel hustled really hard for his Dirty Hands crew because he felt like he let them down in last team challenge when he was team lead. So, he certainly redeemed himself in this challenge.
Next up, was the individual challenge. In it, they had to transport slime eels from one tank to another for the win. Angel was grossed out by them at first. During the challenge, Michael “Eyebrows” suffered a hard slip and fall, but he was a trooper and got back up to eventually complete the challenge in a decent place.
However, at the end, it was Scott that finished in first place. Liz finished in second place. Swifty and Tara ended up finishing last. So, they had to battle each other ,head-to-head, in an overtime challenge. The loser got eliminated from the individual competitions and would have to clock out so to speak.
In the overtime challenge, Tara and Swifty had to untangle line buoys. Then stack 4 of them on a rack and put their rope back inside a box for the win.
Swifty took the lead over Tara, and he finished up stacking his 4th buoys ahead of her. Then he started cramping really bad as he tried to put all of his rope back inside the box. That gave room for Tara to catch up.
Unfortunately for Tara, she had an old thumb injury that started acting up on her so bad to the point that she had to quit and go get medical attention for it. So, Swifty finished up the challenge to keep his spot in the individual challenges alive.
Meanwhile, Tara did return to clock out. However, host Phil Keoghan said it was still unclear if Tara will be able to continue in the team competitions due to her thumb injury. So, we’ll have to wait and see how that pans out in a future episode I guess.
