The folks over at TV Line reported on this news back in March 2021. So, FX didn’t waste much time to offer up a season 5 renewal for the show.

During the Snowfall season 5 renewal announcement, Eric Schrier who is the president of FX Entertainment said some wonderful words about the show stating,”Snowfall has come into its own as one of the best dramas on TV. Its quality and audience growth is a remarkable achievement for a show in its fourth season.

This series owes its excellence to the amazing team behind Snowfall. Its co-creator John Singleton, co-creator/showrunner Dave Andron, executive producers Walter Mosley, Leonard Chang and Tommy Schlamme. Damson Idris and our entire cast continue to deliver outstanding performances every episode.”

Snowfall season 4 averaged 689,000 LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.29 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The last episode 9, which aired last Wednesday night, April 14, 2021, drew in 802,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.35 ratings score.

The most-watched episode for season 4 ,thus far, is episode 9 with the 802,000 LIVE viewers. The least-watched episode was episode 4 with 600,000 LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 9 with the 0.35 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was a toss-up between episodes 4, 5 and 7. They all tied with a 0.25 ratings score.

Currently, we don’t know how many episodes the new season 5 will get. We presume it’ll be around the same number as all the other seasons. Again, we’ll have to wait around to see when season 5 will actually debut as FX has not announced a premiere date for season 5 yet.
