SWAT Season 4, May 26, 2021 Episode 18 Is The Finale. Season 5 Is Happening

Hey, “S.W.A.T.” fans. We are back on here with some more very important SWAT information to deliver to you guys. So, pull up a seat and relax. We’re getting into it right now. First thing’s first. For those of you who don’t know, SWAT’s current season 4 didn’t get an entire full season. So, tonight’s episode 18 was the finale episode for season 4.

That means season 4 is officially done. We think season 4 might have been cut short due to all of the pandemic issues from last year and into this year.

On a much brighter note, we can officially tell you that SWAT will be returning to CBS’ primetime line up during the new 2021/2022 season with a new season 5! That’s right, guys. You can officially relax in knowing that your favorite show is safe from getting the dreaded cancellation notice that some other very good shows weren’t lucky enough to avoid.

According to the folks over at TV Line, CBS renewed SWAT for a brand new season 5 back in mid-April 2021. During its renewal announcement, CBS also renewed other shows: The Equalizer for season 2, FBI for season 4, FBI: Most Wanted for season 3, Bob Hearts Abishola for season 3, The Neighborhood for season 4 and Young Sheldon for seasons 5, 6 and 7!

On the unfortunate side of things, CBS canceled: Mom, NCIS: New Orleans, All Rise and MacGyver. And although they renewed Seal Team for a new season 5, it appears they’re trying to ship it off to Paramount+. So, things are getting tough out there for these shows.

Currently, we do not yet know how many episodes SWAT’s new season 5 will serve up. We’re going to have to wait until CBS releases that very important information later this summer. We presume that SWAT will debut season 5 during the Fall 2021, but we’ll have to wait for further confirmation of that as well.

SWAT season 4 averaged 3.163 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.42 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 17, which aired last Wednesday night, May 19, 2021, drew in 3.131 million LIVE viewers.

The most-viewed episode was episode 6 with 4.060 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 3 with 2.245 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 12 with a 0.55 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 3 with a 0.34 ratings score. Those numbers actually seem quite low for CBS. We’re guessing that SWAT just barely made the cut this year.
