The Bachelorette June 7, 2021 Eliminated 7 Guys In Premiere Episode 1 (Recap)
Hey, “Bachelor Nation” fans. Tonight, June 7, 2021, the premiere episode 1 of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston did indeed hit the airwaves, and 7 unlucky guys already got sent home when it was all said and done.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the usual intro for the new Bachelorette headliner Katie Thurston. Shortly after that, former Bachelorette headliners Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams revealed that Katie will not go through this process alone. They are there to help her out. (Translation: ABC brought them on to be co-hosts since they had a falling out with their long-time host Chris Harrison after last season’s racist debacle with Rachael and Matt James.)
Next, ABC gave us a brief preview of all the men they casts to vy for Katie’s love and affection. Next, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams snuck up on Katie and surprised her. Katie was totally ecstatic to meet them. They told Katie, “We are here to help you.” They went inside to chat. They told Katie not to rule any of the men out on night one. Katie told them what she wants in a man and so on and so forth.
After all of the chit chatting with Katie, Kaitlyn and Tayshia, the guys arrived in the traditional limo to meet Katie. As usual, a couple of the guys did stand out by bringing along a gimmick of some sort.
Michael brought a watch saying, “Time is precious. Let’s make the most of it.” Tre arrived in a pick up truck. Andrew did a British accent after showing up in a 1920’s car. He told her, “I’ve come all the way from across the pond for you.” Then he told her, “I’m just kidding. I’m actually from Chicago.” It was pretty funny.
Conor C brought his little league baseball glove saying, “I figured if I’m going to be catching feelings, why not bring a glove?”
Kyle pulled out a pair of underwear and gave them to Katie, and it was just weird. Hunter brought a fake fish saying, “Here’s a fish because I’m a catch.”
Jeff drove his RV home there saying, “Home is where the heart is. I’m hoping you’ll be my heart.”
James showed up in a gift-wrapped box. He did not get out of the box, and he told Katie, “You’ll have to come find me inside.” Then they wheeled him inside while he was still inside the box.
Cody brought a blow-up doll there, and he even revealed that he named her Sandy. He told Katie,”Sandy’s been a huge part of my life and helped me through a lot.” Katie thought it was super funny, and she said, “I’m already in love with him!”
Justin brought a paint brush and used some stroking, sexual innuendos with it. It was funny. Quartney also used a lot sexual innuendos with Katie that she found hilarious.
Connor B showed up in a cat suit because he heard Katie was a cat lover. Katie found it super funny and adorable.
Afterwards, Kaitlyn and Tayshia gave Katie more advice on what to do next. Then, Katie went inside and told the guys to just be themselves, and she gave them a big toast.
After that, Katie talked 1 on 1 with the guys. She talked with Andrew. They had a good time talking about his British accent. Katie told him she kind of knew he was faking it because they’re in the middle of a pandemic ,right now, and that would be risking a lot to travel from overseas.
Katie talked with Thomas. It seemed to go well. He gave her a ton of compliments. Katie talked with Christian. She talked with David. She talked with Greg. Greg was super nervous, but Katie seemed to really like him.
Marty gave Katie a necklace that his niece made. Katie loved it. Katie talked with Tre in his truck. Katie talked with Justin, and they ended up kissing. Katie talked with Jeff in his RV home. Perhaps Jeff should’ve left his RV out of this because Katie told the private cams, “I wasn’t feeling the vibes with the RV.”
There was a very intense moment that went down between Aaron and Cody. Apparently, Aaron felt the need to pull Cody aside to tell him, “I don’t like you, bro. Like, I’ve never liked you. It’s not my fault that I don’t like you.” Cody said, “Yeah it is. There was no need for that.” We’re guessing the producers plan to revisit that drama later this season. We’re not sure. It was very strange.
After that, Katie finally opened the box that James was wheeled in earlier. Yes, he had spent all this time in that friggin box. We’re sure he was happy to finally jump out of that hot thing and reveal himself to Katie. Katie liked what she saw saying to the private cams,”I definitely have a crush on him.” So, that went well.
Katie talked with Connor B who wore the cat suit. They played a piano with their feet at one point. They also kissed multiple times. So, their time together went very well.
Katie talked with Michael. At one point, he revealed that he has a 4-year old son at home. Overall, it seemed like they had a good talk. Katie said she’s open to dating someone with kids or without. She’s open to all scenarios. Michael said , “That’s a good attitude to have.”
Next, they showed Katie giving Greg the first impression rose, and they kissed. From there, the rose ceremony took place.
Katie gave roses to: Tre, Michael A, Thomas, Garrett, Connor B, Andrew S, James, Justin, Quartney, Karl, Mike P, Kyle, Andrew, Josh, Conor C, Brendan, David, Aaron, Christian, Hunter and Cody to join Greg who got the first impression rose.
That means poor: Austin, Brandon, Gabriel, Jeff, Landon, Marcus, and Marty did not receive a rose. So, they had to make their exits. And that was the premiere, guys.
The next, new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston is scheduled to air next Monday night, June 14, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
