Cruel Summer Season 1, June 15, 2021 Episode 10 Is The Finale. Season 2 Is Happening
Hey, “Cruel Summer” fans. We totally hope you enjoyed episode 10 tonight, especially since it’s the very last episode for this current, premiere season 1 of Cruel Summer. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s episode 10 was indeed the finale episode for season 1. That means you guys are going to have to wait quite a while to see a brand new episode of Cruel Summer.
However, that last statement leads us right into the good news that we have for you guys. We just found out that Freeform finally made their decision to go ahead and renew Cruel Summer for a brand new season 2! That’s right, guys. That means you can expect to see some more new episodes of Cruel Summer at some point in the future.
According to the folks over at TV Line, Freeform actually revealed their season 2 renewal decision today, June 15,2021. So, this new renewal news is hot right off the press.
The President of Freeform Tara Duncan delivered a statement during the season 2 renewal announcement. Apparently, the Cruel Summer, season 2 renewal was a very easy decision for Freeform. She stated, “Renewing Cruel Summer for a Season 2 was an easy decision. It’s the biggest series debut in Freeform’s history and the audience response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Executive producers Jessica Biel, Michelle Purple and showrunner Tia Napolitano did a phenomenal job telling an addictive story that’s tapped into the cultural zeitgeist. I’m excited to see where they take the series next.”
Cruel Summer’s showrunners Tia Napolitano had some very positive words for the season 2 renewal. Apparently, she’s quite ecstatic about it stating, “Collaborating with Iron Ocean, our dedicated crew, charismatic cast, and our partners at Freeform and eOne has been the best first showrunning experience I could ask for. I am beyond grateful and excited by the amazing fan response to our show! Continuing to bottle Cruel Summer magic for a Season 2 is an absolute dream come true.”
Currently, it is not yet known when season 2 will debut or how many episodes it will feature. We’re going to have to wait until Freeform releases that important info at a later date.
Cruel Summer season 1 averaged 254,000 LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.10 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 9, which aired last Tuesday night, June 8, 2021, drew in 297,000 LIVE viewers and a 0.12 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 8 with 310,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 7 with 200,000 LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 8 with a 0.15 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.07 ratings score.
