Good Girls Season 4, July 22, 2021 Episodes 15 & 16 Are The Finale. Season 5 Not Happening
Hey, “Good Girls” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed episodes 15 and 16 tonight, especially since they are the final episodes of not just only season 4 of Good Girls, but also the series itself. Yep, that’s right, guys. We ,unfortunately, have to give you the bad news that NBC decided not to renew Good Girls for a brand new season 5.
According to the folks over at TV Line, the Good Girls cancellation occurred back in late June 2021. They were hoping to deliver a 5th and final season, but that did not work out due to financial reasons.
Also, there was a reported attempt to put Good Girls back on Netflix, but that didn’t work out either. So, it’s officially the end of the Good Girls series.
Another TV Line article explained in more detail as to why Good Girls got canceled. Apparently, NBC did agree at one point to bring Good Girls back for one last season 5, which would contain just 8 episodes to give the show some closure, but NBC backed out.
One of TV Line’s NBC insiders told them, “We very much wanted to bring Good Girls back for one more season to close out the story, but unfortunately we were unable to make the financials work.” TV Line also mentioned that there might have been some issues going on between Rio star Manny Montana and Beth star Christina Hendricks. However, that’s all seems to be unconfirmed gossip.
Good Girls season 4 averaged 1.499 million LIVE viewers per episode and a 0.32 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.
The most recent episode 14, which aired last Thursday night, July 15, 2021, drew in 1.693 million LIVE viewers and a 0.34 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 14 with 1.693 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 4 with 1.304 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.42 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 11 with a 0.25 ratings score. Judging from those numbers, I can see why Good Girls was on NBC’s hitlist. Those numbers seem really low for a major network like NBC. It’s no surprise that the financials didn’t pan out. Once again, RIP (rest in peace) Good Girls.
