Survivor April 20, 2022 Voted Off Chanelle Howell (Recap)
Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, April 20, 2022, another new episode of Survivor season 42 did indeed air, and another contestant got sent packing from the island at the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with some of the contestants talking about what went down at the last tribal council meeting, which sent Lydia Meredith packing. Chanelle told the private cams that she was on the wrong side of the vote at the last tribal council, and that made her concerned.
Drea told the private cams, “Romeo is becoming too paranoid and might need to go.” Maryanne told the private cams, “I’m at the bottom of the totem pole, and it totally sucks.”
Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new Reward challenge. In it, they were split up into two teams. They drew rocks for the team the would be on. The one person that drew the grey rock had to sit out of the competition. Maryanne drew the grey rock, but Drea volunteered to trade spots with Marryanne, claiming, she doesn’t like what the reward is, which was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and potato chips. So, Drea sat out, and Marryanne played.
During the challenge, the team members had to climb up a latter and dive into the water. Then, they had to get through some water obstacles. After everyone made it through, they had to shoot 5 buoys into a basket for the win. The blue team won. It was also revealed that Drea found a hidden beware advantage while the challenge was going on.
After the Reward challenge, Drea was seen reading her beware advantage. It gave her clues to finding the actual advantage. She did eventually find it, and it turned out to be the “Knowledge Is Power” advantage.
This advantage gave Drea the power to take someone else’s advantage away from them by asking them if they had it. So, if Drea knows someone that has an advantage, she could ask them if they have it, and they would have to give it to her. Drea told the private cams that she is indeed aware of some people who have advantages.
At one point, Tori noticed that Drea had red paint still on her arm from locating the advantage. Drea tried to feed Tori some BS story about messing with some paint, but Tori didn’t really buy it ,and she started blabbing to other people that something is up with Drea. Drea noticed what Tori was doing and told the private cams, “I don’t trust Tori. She’s always tried to blindside me in the past. So, she needs to go.”
Next up, was the immunity challenge. In this one, they had to balance themselves on a narrow perch while holding a buoy with two handles. The last one standing without falling, won.
Before the comp got underway, Jeff enticed them with the opportunity to get a large bag of rice that could last them 4 days or longer. In order to get this rice, some people would have to sit out of the challenge. Jeff agreed to 4 people sitting out of the challenge for the bag of rice. So, Marryanne, Drea, Omar and Lindsay all volunteered to sit out of the challenge to get the big bag of rice.
During the challenge, it came down to Tori and Jonathan, and Tori held on just long enough to edge Jonathan out for a second, consecutive immunity win! That fouled up Drea’s plans to get Tori out, and she told the private cams that she was ticked off about it.
Hai told the private cams that Chanelle is his main target for being disloyal. Mike echoed those same words along with a few other people. So, Chanelle seemed to be the main target at this point. However, Romeo almost messed that up. He told the private cams, he was getting worried because he was left out of the vote at the last tribal council.
So, he started talking to a lot of people to get reassurance that he was not getting voted off. It rubbed people the wrong way. Omar told the private cams that Romeo was doing too much. So, he started actually campaigning for Romeo to go instead of Chanelle.
Hai agreed to get Romeo out saying, “He’s causing too much chaos, and I don’t like that.” So, Hai also started campaigning to get Romeo out. He approached Jonathan, Mike and Drea with the pitch to get Romeo out. Mike told private cams, he still wanted to get Chanelle out because he doesn’t trust her. So, Mike campaigned to still vote out Chanelle heading into the tribal council meeting.
At the tribal council meeting, nothing too wild happened. They just had a general conversation about who should go next and so on and so forth. Then, they finally voted, and the results were that Hai got 1 vote. Romeo got 3 votes, and Chanelle got a whopping 6 votes. So, with the 6 votes, Chanelle got voted off the island in this episode. She had nothing to say to her castmates on the way out.
Chanelle told the private cams, “I played a little to lax. The game was moving a lot faster than I thought, but at least I made jury and get to decide who wins the game.” How do you guys feel about Chanelle Howell getting voted off of Survivor season 42 in tonight’s April 20, 2022 episode? “She had nothing to say…”
I don’t think that’s true. It looks like it was edited. And the fact the Jeff’s head was turned and a couple of people said “Wow” leads me to believe that she said something that they edited out.
