So You Think You Can Dance June 22, 2022 Eliminated Virginia & James (Recap)
Hey, “So You Think You Can Dance” fans. Tonight, June 22, 2022, another LIVE performances/results episode of So You Think You Can Dance season 17 did indeed air with judges: Leah Remini, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and JoJo Siwa, and another two, unlucky contestants were eliminated at the end.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the top 12 dancers doing a group routine to “Aura” by Lady GaGa. After that, Ralyn & Carter kicked off the performances with a Contemporary number. Afterwards, Leah said, “Carter did not have a problem connecting to the dance, but I wish Ralyn was more of a leader.” JoJo said, “Ralyn was powerful. I liked Carter’s barefoot pirouette.” tWitch said, “A number like this is why this show has won Emmy’s.”
Alexis & Keaton rocked a Cha Cha routine. Afterwards, JoJo said, “Keaton was a great ballroom partner.” tWitch said, “Alexis owned it, and I’m so proud of Keaton for learning ballroom in a week.” Leah said, “You worked great as a team.”
Virginia & James delivered a Contemporary dance. Afterwards, tWitch said, “It was a beautiful job.” Leah said, “James, don’t shy away from the dance, and I wanted to see more of Virginia fighting the pain.” JoJo said, “This routine felt more like a solo, and I found myself only watching Virginia. James was only in it 50 percent.”
Jordan & Waverly rocked out a Jazz number. Afterwards, Leah said, “Waverly was in it, and Jordan was great.” JoJo said, “This is what a 50/50 partnership looks like.” tWitch said, “It felt like movie magic to me.”
Anna & Beau delivered a Contemporary routine. Afterwards, JoJo said, “This partnership is one of my favorites, and it drives me insane how America may think Beau won’t have good technique when he keeps up so well with Anna.” tWitch said, “You guys bring emotional intelligence as a couple.” Leah said, “I love how Beau took care of his partner in this package. You guys are magical together.”
To cap off tonight’s performances, Essence & Thiago hit the stage to serve up a Hip Hop number. Afterwards, tWitch said, “Hip Hop needs to have bounce and groove, and you guys both accomplished that.” Leah said, “You guys found your light here.” JoJo said, “I didn’t even need to write notes for this one.”
After all of that, the studio audience casts their votes for who they thought should advance through to next week’s episode. The results revealed that poor Jordan, James, Virginia and Waverly landed in the bottom four. The judges got to save two of them, and they chose to save Jordan and Waverly. That unfortunately means poor Virginia Crouse and James Thomas got eliminated in tonight’s episode. How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
