So You Think You Can Dance August 3, 2022 Eliminated Essence (Recap)
Hey, “So You Think You Can Dance” fans. Tonight, August 3, 2022, another LIVE performances/results episode of So You Think You Can Dance’s current season 17 did indeed hit the air with judges: Leah Remini, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and JoJo Siwa. Another unlucky dancer was sent home at the end, leaving us with our final 2 dancers.
Each contestant performed three times, which included a performance with a returning All-Star: Kiki Nyemchek, Audrey Case or Robert Green.
To kick off tonight’s performances, Alexis and Keaton served up a Bollywood number. Afterwards, JoJo said, “I saw a different side of both of you, and I loved it.” tWitch said, “You guys did a wonderful job honoring the culture.” Leah said, “This performance says a lot about your stamina.”
Alexis and Essence delivered a Contemporary routine. Afterwards, Leah said, “You guys worked beautifully together.” JoJo said, “Essence, you had some wobbles. Alexis, you’re very good at Contemporary.” tWitch said, “Take your conviction from this number and spread it throughout the rest of the show.”
Essence and Robert Green performed a Hip Hop dance. Afterwards, tWitch said, “Essence, you’re dancing next to a star, but you’re also a star.” Leah said, “Essence, you should continue owning your stuff on the stage.” JoJo said, “That number was exciting.”
Keaton and Audrey Case danced a Contemporary routine. Afterwards, JoJo said, “This dance was insane. Keaton, this was one of your most in-tune performances.” tWitch said, “Keaton, you gave us commitment and conviction.” Leah said, “The moves were perfect but, I wanted to see more emotion.”
Alexis and Kiki Nyemchek performed an Argentine Tango routine. Afterwards, Leah said, “It was beautiful overall.” JoJo said, “Alexis, this wasn’t your most impressive number, but you dance with such a purpose.” tWitch said, “Alexis, I hope the takeaway is not only were you beautiful, but all the way through, you had to be invested in the character.”
To cap off tonight’s performances, Keaton and Essence delivered a Jazz number. Afterwards, tWitch said, “I feel like you guys were both challenged out of your style.” Leah said, “Keaton, this was not your dance, but I applaud you for taking it by the reigns.” JoJo said, “Keaton, you were Mr. Flamoyant. Essence, you acted like what a star is.”
After all of that, it was revealed that Keaton and Alexis would be advancing to the finale show as the top two dancers. That sadly means that poor Essence just came up short and was eliminated. How do you guys feel about tonight’s results? Let us know in the comments section.

The new judge is worst ever. The show had gone totally downhill. Will not be watching again nor attend live traveling shows.
