Hey, Dancing With The Stars” fans. Tonight’s theme was Disney Night, which was centered around shows and films that are specifically found on the Disney Plus streaming service.
Judges: Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli were,of course, all on hand to give their critiques and scores.
Joseph Baena and Daniella Karagach kicked off tonight’s performances with a Charleston routine to a “Hercules” theme. Afterwards, Len said, “It was lively, but it was overloaded with tricks to emphasize Joseph’s physical strength.”
Derek said, “The Charleston parts were good, but the lifts and tricks were distracting.” Bruno said, “I didn’t mind the lifts, but the problem was there were parts where you lost the timing on your feet.” Carrie Ann said, “Joseph, you’re a contender, but you need to work on the ins and outs of the lifts, and you need to not rush on the music.”
Carrie Ann gave Joseph and Daniella a 7 score, Len a 7, Derek a 7, Bruno a 7 for a score of 28 out of a possible 40 points.
Sam Champion and Cheryl Burke served up a Paso Doble number to the “The Greatest Showman” theme. Afterwards, Derek said, “Sam, I can’t help but root for you, but the performance lacked shape and impact.” Bruno said, “It was big, ballsy, and dramatic, but it was a little monolithic, and you almost dropped her in the end.”
Carrie Ann said, “Sam, I’m proud of you for challenging yourself. You still need to work on your shaping.” Len said, “Sam, you’re a showman, and you give it 100 percent, but you need stronger posture.”
Carrie Ann gave Sam & Cheryl a 7 score, Len a 6, Derek a 6 and Bruno a 6 for a 25 score.
Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong performed a Jazz dance to a “Coco” theme. Afterwards, Bruno said, “Jordin, you danced with your heart. You were connected, and you managed to make the quality of movement fluid and dynamic.” Carrie Ann said, “It was spectacular. You have so many dynamics when you dance.” Len said, “The performance had lovely, fluid movement. It was your best dance to date.” Derek said, “Jordin, you light up the ballroom when you dance, and you nailed the turns.”
Carrie Ann gave Jordin and Brandon a 9 score, Len an 8, Derek an 8 and Bruno a 9 for 34 points.
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson delivered a Jazz routine to a “Hamilton” theme. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “Wayne, your feet were on point and so incredibly rhythmic.” Len said, “Wayne, I’m calling you the postman because you keep delivering. It was exceptional.” Derek said, “The texture of your movement expressed your emotion. It was absolutely sensational.” Bruno said, “You took us on a journey with your character.”
Carrie Ann gave Wayne & Witney a 9 score, Len a 9, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a 36 score.
Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart delivered a Quickstep number to a “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” theme. Afterwards, Len said, “Daniel, I thought there was too much messing about early on. Your frame was better, but there was too much that didn’t gel.”
Derek said, “Your footwork went a little bit wrong on occasion, but the diagonal pass was sensational.” Bruno said, “Daniel, you set the scene and played the part beautifully. Your frame was better, but you did lose a step.” Carrie Ann said, “Daniel, you made a lot of mistakes, but when you were in proper technique, you handled it.”
Carrie Ann gave Daniel and Britt a 7 score, Len a 7, Derek a 7 and Bruno an 8 for a 29 score.

Carrie Ann gave Shangela and Gleb an 8 score, Len an 8, Derek an 8 and Bruno an 8 for a 32 score.

However, I wanted more in hold than with the umbrella.” Derek said, “The performance was pretty, clean and precise, and it was the best frame of the night so far.”
Carrie Ann gave Heidi and Artem a 9 score, Len an 8, Derek an 8 and Bruno a 9 for a 34 score.

Carrie Ann gave Gabby and Val a 9 score, Len a 9, Derek a 9 and Bruno a 9 for a 36 score.
Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater performed a Samba routine to a “Cars” theme. Afterwards, Len said, “Your legs were too flexed, and it lacked bounce.” Derek said, “I actually thought the dance was good, but Trevor, I could see you thinking about the dance in your expression.” Bruno said, “The performance needed to be a little more elastic.” Carrie Ann said, “You have come a long way.”
Carrie Ann gave Trevor and Emma a 7 score, Len a 7, Derek a 7 and Bruno a 7 for a 28 score.

Afterwards, Derek said, “You’re a sensational performer in character.” Bruno said, “You performed in character, but the samba was far from perfect.” Carrie Ann said, “Your performance was improved from last week with grace and fluidity.” Len said, “Your performance was an improvement because it wasn’t overcomplicated. It was a nice, clear routine with control. This was your best dance by far.”

You both did clean work in hold.” Derek said, “It was risky to perform in pants because it could have shown more flaws, but there weren’t any.”
Carrie Ann gave Selma and Sasha an 8 score, Len an 8, Derek an 8 and Bruno an 8 for a 32 score.
