The Bachelor March 20, 2023 Eliminated Ariel Frenkel (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, March 20, 2023, another new episode of The Bachelor 2023 edition with headliner Zach Shallcross did hit the air, and we saw another woman get her heart broken at the end of it all. Tonight’s episode was the overnight dates episode with the final 3 ladies.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with Zach telling host Jesse Palmer that he wants to set a rule for himself to not sleep with any of the women during the overnight dates in the fantasy suite. He said, it’s going to be hard, but he’s prepared to do it.
Zach’s first date for this episode was with Ariel. He took her to get something to eat. Zach told the private cams, “I always have a blast with Ariel, and I always get hot when I kiss her.” Ariel told the private cams, “I’ve never been more connected to Zach. Sparks are literally flying.”
Ariel told Zach, “I’m definitely falling in love with you.” Zach said, “I feel that, and that’s the important thing. I could absolutely see a future with you. That took a huge leap of faith to say, and I can’t thank you enough,” and they kissed.
During the second half of Zach and Ariel’s date, things went well and the Fantasy suite card came up. Zach told Ariel that he doesn’t want to sleep with anyone during the overnight dates. Ariel said, “I appreciate that, but I do want to spend this time to connect with you.” So, they did still go to the fantasy suite and did a lot of kissing.
We got footage of them waking up in bed and talking the next morning. They ate breakfast. Zach told the private cams that it was hard to resist making love with Ariel, but he thinks it was for the best.
Zach and Gabi’s 1 on 1 date was up next. They greeted each other with a big hug and compliments. They took a boat to a private island. At one point, they jumped off the boat for a swimming session and talked afterwards. They talked about missing each other after hometowns week. At one point, Gabi walked off and told the private cams that she felt negative and emotional during their date.
Zach went after her to ask her if she’s ok. She told him that some of her past insecurities resulting from her past relationship was getting to her. Zach gave her some reassurance telling her, “It’s ok. I’ve felt secure at times. I’m just trying to figure this whole thing out with you.” Gabi told the private cams, “Zach brought me back to a good place where I needed to be, and I’m just so excited.”
During the second half of Zach and Gabi’s date, they did some more talking. Gabi thanked Zach for making her feel so comfortable. She talked more about how she was cheated on in her past relationship. Then, she told Zach, “You have all the characteristics I want in a partner.” Zach told her about his self confidence issues he used to have.
Gabi told Zach, “I am falling in love with you.” The fantasy suite card came up. Zach gave Gabi his spill about not wanting to sleep with anyone during these fantasy suite dates, but they did go to the fantasy suite to spend more time together. They did a lot of kissing before the cameras cut out.
Then, we got footage of them waking up in bed, talking and kissing. Gabi told the private cams, “I’m really confident about where Zach and I are at in our relationship. I’m definitely falling in love with him.” Zach told the private cams, “Our time alone was huge for our relationship, and it was really special.”
At this point, Zach talked with host Jesse Palmer to admit that he broke his rule and ended up sleeping with Gabi. He now feels terrible because he’s gone against his word saying, “I feel like I said one thing and did another. I feel like I need to tell the other women what I did with Gabi.”
Zach went back and talked with Gabi again to tell her he felt like he was in his head about going against his word and that he wanted to tell the rest of the women what happened between them. Gabi told the private cams, “I felt a little blindsided because I think what happened between us in the fantasy suite should be private.” Zach told Gabi, “I’m definitely falling in love with you, and I want to see a future with you.” Gabi said, “Thank you for sharing that,” and they kissed.
Zach and Kaity’s 1 on 1 date was up next. They greeted each other with a big hug. He took her canoeing. Afterwards, they talked and kissed. After that, Zach broke the news to Kaity that he slept with Gabi saying, “I came into this week not wanting to sleep with anyone, but I did.”
Kaity said, “I did come into this knowing it could be a possibility, but it does hurt to think about it. You telling me confirms it, and I honestly could have went without hearing it. I’m not going to pretend that I’m happy about it. I understand you were trying to be respectful, but I could’ve went without hearing it.” Kaity told the private cams, “I’m really not happy right now.”
Kaity told Zach, “Yeah, it’s weird now. I’m gonna be honest. I feel very distant from you right now. I didn’t need to know what you did with the other women. I don’t care to hear it to be honest. I understand why you felt like you needed to tell me, but it was like rubbing salt in the wound for me.”
Kaity felt so bad that she questioned how she could even continue the rest of the date with Zach. She told the private cams, “I just wanna go home. What Zach told me gave me the worst feeling in the world. I honestly don’t know if I’m ready to move past this.”
However, Kaity did still show up for the night portion of she and Zach’s date. Zach said, “How are you? I was worried after the first part of our date. I wanna figure this out. I can’t hold a secret. It will make me sick to my stomach. I’m so sorry for making you feel bad.” Kaity said, “Well, relationships aren’t always rainbows and butterflies. I feel like we can get past this.” Zach told her, “Thank you so much. You make me feel very special,” and they kissed. She agreed to go to the fantasy suite with him.
After all of that, it was rose ceremony time. Just before the rose ceremony, Gabi told the private cams, “Zach has cleared his conscience at the expense of my heart. He betrayed my trust. I don’t know if I even want this rose right now.”
At the rose ceremony, Zach gave Kaity and Gabi a rose. That means poor Ariel was indeed eliminated. Zach walked her out and told her, “This was literally the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I’m blessed to know you and how you opened up your heart to me.”
Ariel said, “I honestly couldn’t have done it with anyone else,” and they hugged goodbye. Ariel told the private cams, “It hurts a lot because Zach is such a great person, and the future I envisioned with him is gone. I just wonder when I’ll ever find that person who wants me and only me above anyone else.”
Gabi was still feeling upset, telling the private cams, “I feel like Zach is just making eye contact with Kaity, and I’ve just been put through the ringer here. I have some questions the need to be answered before I can agree to an engagement with Zach.” And that was tonight’s show, guys.
