The Rookie Feds Season 1 May 2, 2023 Episode 22 Is The Finale. Season 2 Not Yet Confirmed
Hey, “The Rookie: Feds” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed the heck out of episode 22 tonight, especially since it is indeed the very last episode of The Rookie: Feds’ current season 1. Yep, that’s right, guys. Tonight’s episode 22 is the season 1 closer.
Also, unfortunately, we can’t currently confirm if episode 22 was the very last episode of The Rookie: Feds forever. Apparently, ABC is still currently trying to decide if the show is worth renewing for a new season 2.
According the folks over at Deadline.com, there is some positive news for The Rookie: Feds. Currently, they’re telling us that the talks for a new season 2 are reportedly going well according to their sources.
While we wait for ABC to come up with an official decision for The Rookie: Feds season 2 fate, we can take a look at the numbers that season 1 delivered for ABC and see if we can’t get a little bit of a better idea of what its season 2 chances might be.
We’ve got some data from the LIVE Nielsen ratings. They’re telling us that The Rookie: Feds season 1 averaged 2.400 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.30 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 21, which aired last Tuesday night, April 25, 2023, managed to draw in 2.486 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.24 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 10 with 3.797 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 7 with 1.546 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was episode 10 with a 0.44 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.21 ratings score. When you add the numbers from the streaming platforms, it brings the number of total average viewers per episode up to around 3.7 million along with a slightly-elevated 0.40 ratings score.
With those numbers, we can see why ABC is teetering with the future of this show. They’re probably pondering if any new pilot shows that are waiting in the wings might perform better for them in that time slot or not.
Also, these numbers for The Rookie: Feds aren’t bottom of the barrel horrible, but they aren’t stellar either. They seem to be just low enough to cause ABC to think, “Maybe, we could do better with this time slot.” That’s our guess, anyways. This is definitely a cross your fingers moment if you want this show to get renewed.
