New FBI Season 5 May 23, 2023 Episode 23 Is The Finale. Season 6 Is Happening
Hey, “FBI” fans. We hope you guys totally dug what episode 23 brought to the table tonight, especially since it was indeed the finale episode of this current season 5 of FBI. That means you guys will have to wait quite some time before you get another new episode. The good news is that you will get to see a new episode of FBI in the future because the CBS people did renew it for a brand new season 6!
That’s right, guys. FBI will definitely return to give you another new slate of episodes next season. According to the Deadline.com people, FBI was actually renewed when the season 5 renewal was announced last year. Yep, CBS renewed FBI for two seasons at the time. So, there was actually never any doubt whatsoever that a new season 6 was happening.
During the FBI renewal announcement, Kelly Kahl who is the president of CBS Entertainment had great things to say about FBI and all of its spinoff series because they were renewed at the same time. He said, “The FBIs are one of the most successful brands in the entire TV landscape and a powerful cornerstone of our number one lineup.
They’ve attracted a dedicated, loyal fan base, thanks to the extraordinary vision of executive producer Dick Wolf and the talents of all three outstanding casts and creative teams. I know we and our viewers look forward to two additional seasons of engaging, heroic stories.”
The executive producer and creator of the FBI shows Dick Wolf also made a statement saying, “Everybody who works on these three shows is over the moon about the multi-year pickups. We are all incredibly grateful to CBS and our partners at Universal Television and CBS Studios. And I personally would like to thank the incredible casts, talented writers and dedicated producers, not to mention three crews who never missed an airdate despite the difficulties of producing full seasons during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, FBI season 5 averaged 7.047 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.52 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 22, which aired last Tuesday night, May 16, 2023, managed to draw in 6.575 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.45 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 10 with 7.591 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 21 with 6.458 million LIVE viewers. The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 0.64 ratings score.
The lowest-rated episode was episodes 19 and 21. They both tied for last place with a 0.41 ratings score. Those numbers, of course, increase a lot after adding the numbers from the streaming platforms. So, that was another very solid performance for FBI.
