The Voice Season 23 May 23, 2023 Episode Is The Finale. New Season 24 Is Happening
Hey, “The Voice” fans. We are back with some wonderful news for you guys because we can officially tell you that the NBC people have officially renewed your favorite singing show The Voice for a brand new season 24. That’s right, guys. The Voice will be back to deliver up another new slate of episodes for you guys next season.
According to the NBC.com site, NBC served up The Voice season 24 renewal announcement this month, May 2023, and they’re saying that it is scheduled to make its debut this Fall 2023 in its normal time slots, which are Mondays at 7 pm central standard time and Tuesdays at 8 pm central standard time.
NBC.com also made note that longtime judge/coach Blake Shelton will not be returning for season 24. Blake also made a statement about it saying, “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23. This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me.
It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best.
It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week. I’ve made lifelong bonds with [Host] Carson [Daly] and every single one my fellow Coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!
I have to give a huge shout-out to the singers, the ‘Voices,’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent, and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their Coach. Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these Artists, us Coaches, and everyone at The Voice who are chasing their dreams. It would not happen without you!”
NBC.com revealed and confirmed that country music legend Reba McEntire will take over Blake Shelton’s spot as a judge/coach in the new season 24. They also mentioned that the other judges/coaches for season 24 will be: Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and John Legend.
Reba also made a statement about replacing Blake Shelton stating, “To fill Blake’s chair? Wow, That’s gonna be tough. He did a great job, and kudos to him.”
Blake also revealed why he chose to leave The Voice stating, “I think being a stepdad to wife Gwen Stefani’s kids has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore. Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ the very next thought is always,‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going work?’ Or, ‘What will they think?’ Or, ‘How will that affect a schedule?’
I think the only way for me to really do that right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time. There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, The Voice season 23 averaged 4.988 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.48 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.
