New 20/20 June 23, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. It’s that time again. We are back in your faces with some great news. The people over at NBC are airing another brand new episode of 20/20 tonight, June 23, 2023. Yes, tonight’s new episode will be the 35th one for 20/20’s current season 45, and we’re going to give you as much preview information about it as we can.
The folks over at ABC served up an official press release for tonight’s new, June 23, 2023 episode. So, we’re going to definitely pull it up to deliver this preview session. Let’s get to it.
For starters, ABC let us know that tonight’s new, June 23, 2023 episode is officially labeled/titled, “Never Made It Home.” In tonight’s new episode, the 20/20 team is going to take a deep look at the notorious Kristin Smart case, which is nearly three decades old now.
Back in 1996, Kristin was a first-year student at Cal Poly University. She ended up disappearing from a fraternity party one night. The 20/20 team is going to revisit the events of the case and reveal how the police finally tracked down and captured her murderer who was actually just sentenced to prison back in March of 2023.
Chief national correspondent Matt Gutman is going to report on how cutting-edge investigative techniques and groundbreaking forensic research was used to finally bring Kristin’s killer to justice.
This episode will feature interviews with an unlikely witness that turned out to be the key to a conviction, friends and family of Smart, those involved in the case, and investigators who refused to let the case go cold in search of the truth.
This episode will also take a look at interrogation and deposition tapes of the suspect, ABC News’ archival footage of the 1996 disappearance, and comments from the jurors themselves on what it was that put her killer away more than 25 years after Kristin Smart vanished.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, June 23, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “New ‘20/20’ REPORTS ON THE NOTORIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF KRISTIN SMART, WHOSE KILLER IS FINALLY BROUGHT TO JUSTICE AFTER A DECADES-LONG INVESTIGATION. The Two-Hour Program Features Interviews With Friends and Family, Key Investigators and Others Close to the Case.”
ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new again tonight, June 23, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV screens, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time. It will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
