The Bachelorette August 7, 2023 Eliminated Xavier Bonner (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, August 7, 2023, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2023 edition with headliner Charity Lawson hit the air, and we saw another man get sent home during it. Tonight’s episode was the Fantasy Suite dates, and they took place over in beautiful Fiji.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with Charity talking with host Jesse Palmer about her final three guys. She said, “I’m still trying to see where Xavier is at, and if he’s really ready for an engagement. I feel so good about Joey, but am I getting the real Joey? That’s the question I have about him. Things with Dotun are so amazing, but I wonder if he’s too good to be true.”
After that, we got footage of Charity and Xavier’s 1 on 1 date. They greeted each other with a big hug on the beach. Then, the Fiji locals gave them a dancing performance. Charity and Xavier learned to do one of the dances. Afterwards, they talked about what it takes for a relationship to work out and kissed. So, the first half of their date seemed to go well.
During the second half of their date, Charity and Xavier talked over dinner. Xavier told her my heart is 100 percent with you, but I’m still feeling some doubts in my mind. Charity told Xavier, “I think we just need to focus on creating a strong foundation and not worrying about the little things.”
From that point, Xavier told Charity that he was unfaithful in his past relationship. He said, “It was disrespectful. That’s not the man that I am. I felt the need to tell you because I thought you deserved to know.” Charity said, “Ok, give me a second.” She walked away to think about it. Charity told the private cams, “I can’t believe a week out from a proposal, he’s telling me this. What’s the next surprise? I feel like I owe it to Xavier to hear him out.”
Charity came back and told Xavier, “Sorry, cheating is a sensitive spot for me.” Xavier told her he cheated on his girlfriend multiple times two years into their relationship. Charity said, “Thanks for letting me know. What did you learn from that to keep it from happening again?” He said, “I questioned myself and why I did the things I did. I’m at a place where if circumstances like that arise, I know how to deal with it and keep it from happening again. If you choose to be with me, and I choose to be with you, I will not cheat.”
Charity told the private cams, “I appreciate Xavier’s honesty.” Then, Xavier told Charity, “I need to see more from you to remove all doubts from my mind.” Charity told the private cams, “What more does he need to see. I’ve given everything. This is me. I don’t think Xavier has really put in the work to not cheat anymore.”
Charity told Xavier, ‘I don’t want to force you to get the place I need you to be prematurely. So, I’m not going to give you this fantasy suite card. Xavier told her, “I’m sorry.” Charity told the private cams, “I’m angry, upset and disappointed.” From there, Charity walked Xavier out to the exit car, and they hugged goodbye. Xavier told the private cams, “I know I hurt her. I shouldn’t have doubted myself and us. I shouldn’t have doubted it.” Charity told the private cams, “I would be a fool to keep someone around who isn’t ready, and I am not a fool.”
Next, we got footage of Joey and Charity’s 1 on 1 date. She greeted him by driving up in an ATV. Then, they hugged and kissed and took a ride in the ATV. They ran into some issues with the ATV. So, they ended that ride early and just took a walk through the forest area. Then, they talked. He told her about the bad feeling he had when they left their hometown date.
Then, she brought up what his uncle Joe said about him not being the real Joey when they were on the tennis court. He reassured her that he was absolutely being 100 percent real with her. That made Charity feel better about things, and they kissed at the waterfall. Charity told the private cams, “I feel much better about Joey, and I’m eager to tell him I’m falling in love, but I need to be 100 percent sure after what happened with Xavier.”
During the second half of their date, Charity and Joey talked over dinner. Joey told her he’s worried that people in the past have started to question him once they’ve gotten to know him better. Charity told the private cams, “I relate to that.” She told Joey, “I relate to trying to be a people-pleaser. I don’t think it’s normal to expect someone to be consistent with their emotions every single day.”
Joey told Charity, “I am in love with you. I just want you to know that.” Charity said, “That makes me so happy. I am in love with you too. It’s the best feeling. I’m so excited,” and they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “I’m the happiest girl.” She gave him the fantasy suite card. In the fantasy suite, they kissed on the bed before the cameras cut out. Charity told the private cams, “I’m incredibly hopeful that our love could reach new heights.”
We got footage of Charity and Joey waking up in bed. Joey told the private cams, “Waking up with Charity feels right.” Charity told Joey, “I am in love with you, and it’s growing stronger by the second.”
Next, we got footage of Dotun and Charity’s 1 on 1 date. They greeted each other with a huge hug and kiss. Then, they took a ride on some jet skis. After that, they talked on the beach. At one point, he told her, “I’m happy with an engagement at the end of this,” and they kissed.
During the second half of their date, Dotun told the private cams, “I still haven’t heard Charity tell me she loves me. So, that make me a little nervous.” They talked over dinner and drinks. Dotun told her,”I’m in love with you.” Charity told him,”I’m in love with you too,” and they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “Being in love with Dotun feels good.” She gave him the fantasy suite card. In the fantasy suite, they kissed on the bed before the cameras cut out.
We got footage of them waking up in bed and saying sweet things to each other. Dotun told the private cams, “I’ll be heartbroken if I don’t get Charity at the end of this.”
After all of that, we saw Aaron B ,who got eliminated in last week’s episode, return to talk with Charity. He flew all the way out to Fiji to try and get a second shot. When he showed up, Charity was absolutely shocked to see him, but she gave him a hug and said, “You look so good.” Charity told the private cams, “I am excited to see him. I’m not mad about it.”
Charity and Aaron talked. Aaron told her, “It was hard because I know there was more I could’ve given. I just wanted to see where your head was at, and if you’ve been thinking about it as well.” Charity said, “I have been thinking about it everyday. I still don’t know if I made the right choice. I do still care so much about you, and I was falling in love with you.”
From there, Charity had to step away to think about things. She revealed that she was genuinely confused, and that was it, guys. We got a “To Be Continued” message. So, we’re going to see the continuation of Aaron and Charity’s twist in next week’s new episode, or maybe the week after next because The Men Tell All will be featured in next week’s new episode. We’ll see.
