Riverdale Season 7 August 23, 2023 Episode 20 Is The Finale. Season 8 Never Happening
Hey, “Riverdale” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed the heck out of tonight’s episode 20, especially since it was indeed the very last episode of Riverdale’s current season 7 and for the series as a whole. That’s right, guys. Season 7 is officially confirmed to be the very last season of Riverdale forever.
Yep, according to the folks over at Deadline.com, season 7 was revealed to be the final season way back in May of 2022. During the announcement of season 7 being the final season, The CW’s head honcho Mark Pedowitz made a positive statement about it saying, “Seven years is the right amount. I am a big believer of giving series that have had a long run an appropriate send-off.
We had a long conversation with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa yesterday and he is thrilled with the decision. We are going to treat the show in the manner it deserves. It’s been an iconic pop culture star and we want to make sure that it goes out the right way.”
According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Riverdale season 7 averaged 216,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.04 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 19, which aired last Wednesday night, August 16, 2023, managed to draw in 191,000 LIVE viewers.
The most-viewed episode was episode 10 with 277,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 16 with 155,000 LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 10 with a 0.08 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 15 with a 0.01 ratings score. Yeah, the numbers for Riverdale season 7 really got pretty abysmal. It’s not hard to see why they decided to call it an end with this last season 7. It was definitely time.
