Hey, “20/20” fans. We’ve got some excellent news for you guys in this report. It turns out that the ABC people managed to put together another new episode of 20/20 before their new season 46 starts up on September 29, 2023. That’s right, guys. You’re going to get another new episode of 20/20 tonight, September 15, 2023. It will be the 37th episode of 20/20’s current season 45, and we’ve got some new preview intel for it.
ABC served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, September 15, 2023 episode 37. So, we will certainly take a look at it for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
First thing’s first. ABC let us know that tonight’s new, September 15, 2023 installment of 20/20 does have an official title. It’s called, “Since You’ve Been Gone.”
In tonight’s new, September 15, 2023 episode, The 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a 17 year old girl named Alissa Turney. She turned up missing on the last day of her junior year way, way back in 2001. At first, it appeared to be a runaway case, and a goodbye note was found.
However, the investigators started to get more suspicious that there was something more going on with this case, which was of a sinister nature. This episode is going to take a look at all the twists and turns that took place with the investigation of this case. Some of which include: a false confession, a discovery of pipe bombs and a murder trial acquittal.
This episode featured interviews with Alissa’s stepfather, Michael Turney – recently acquitted of murdering Alissa – whose 2009 interview with ABC News authorities said played a key role in the investigation and his trial.
As authorities continue to look for answers over two decades after her disappearance, the program also includes exclusive interviews with Stuart Somershoe and William Anderson, the lead detectives on the case; James Turney, son of Michael Turney; true-crime podcaster Ottavia McHenry, who covered the case; and attorneys who worked on the prosecution and defense.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, September 15, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “A RUNAWAY CASE OR FOUL PLAY? ‘20/20’ EXPLORES THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF ALISSA TURNEY. After a teen vanishes, the family searches for answers, but police see a suspect closer to home.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new again tonight, September 15, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV sets, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
