Amazing Race September 27, 2023 Eliminated Alexandria & Sheridan (Recap)
Hey, “The Amazing Race” fans. Tonight, September 27, 2023, the very first premiere episode 1 of The Amazing Race’s current season 35 did indeed air, and we saw the first team to get eliminated at the end of it.
Tonight’s new, premiere episode kicked off with some intro footage of the 13 teams. Then, they started this leg of the race over at the famous Hollywood sign. Host Phil Keoghan told them that there will be no non-elimination legs, and all u-turn votes will be mandatory this season.
Next, the teams had to make their way to the Biltmore Hotel. Once they got there, they faced a Roadblock challenge. During it, one team member had to walk a tight rope, and the other one had to unscramble words to get their next clue. The unscrambled words turned out to be: “City Of Angels.” Last season’s winners Derek and Claire were there to present them with their next clue.
After completing the roadblock, the teams had to race to LAX to catch a flight to Bangkok Thailand to get their next clue. Once there, they had to go to a giant golden statue of Buddha at Wat Paknam. When they got there, the express pass option was presented to them. The express pass allows them to skip any task they don’t want to complete. However, they had to eat a plate of insects to get it. Morgan and Lena ended up winning it after downing a plate of spiders and other insects. Meanwhile, The rest of the other teams had take a marked boat to Wat Suthat.
When they got to Wat Suthat, they ran into their detour challenges, which were either “Sword Play” or “Spa Day.” In the Sword Play detour, they had to learn a 30 second sword routine to get their next clue. In the Spa Day detour, they had to get a painful 30 minute message to get their next clue.
Malaina and Andrea chose the Sword Play detour, and it turned out to be too tough for them. So, they had to quit it and go do the Spa Day detour. Alexandria & Sheridan had trouble with the Sword Play challenge, but they eventually got it done after wasting loads of time.
Once the teams completed their detours, they had to go to the Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, which was the pit stop for this leg of the race. Jocelyn and Victor arrived in first place and won a trip for two to Patagonia from Expedia. Rob and Corey too 2nd place.
Greg and John came in 3rd place. Morgan and Lena took 4th place. Todd and Ashlie came in 5th. Steve and Anna Leigh came in 6th. Joel and Garrett took the 7th spot. Liam and Yeremi claimed the 8th position. Joe and Ian came in 9th place. Malaina and Andrea claimed the 10th spot. Robin and Chelsea finished 11th. Elizabeth and Iliana took the very important 12 position to narrowly escape elimination.
Poor Alexandria and Sheridan were the last team to arrive. So, they were eliminated. They told the private cams they were disappointed, but glad to have the experience.
