New 48 Hours December 2, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “48 Hours” fans. We’re back with some more great news because the CBS people are indeed serving up another new episode of 48 Hours tonight, December 2, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 10th one for 48 Hours’ current season 37, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.
CBS put out an official press release for tonight’s new, December 2, 2023 episode 10. So, that is what we’ll be taking a look at for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
For starters, CBS let us know that tonight’s new episode 10 of 48 Hours season 37 does have an official title. It’s called,”Death at the Front Door: Who Shot Heidi Firkus?”
In tonight’s new, December 2, 2023 episode 10, the 48 Hours team will take a deep look at a story about a woman named Heidi Firkus. She was shot and killed way, way back on April 25, 2010 when an intruder broke into her home that she shared with her husband Nick Firkus. She called 911 when the break-in happened. Nick told the cops that Heidi was shot when his gun discharged while struggling with the intruder. However, the police found something very odd about Nick’s story.
Correspondent Jamie Yuccas handled the reporting duties for this episode and case. Detective Nicole Sipes told Yuccas, “Most people are home at 6:30 on a Sunday morning, especially in a family neighborhood like that. The last thing that most burglars want to encounter are people.”
Sergeant Jim Gray told Yuccas,”The evidence at the scene did’t match Nick Firkus’ accounts. They have this life and death struggle right in this area with nothing disturbed. By the front door where the alleged struggle occurred there was a vase, some receipts, a beer bottle and none of that was knocked over. So, that kind of raised suspicion to us that if there was such a struggle, why wasn’t any of this stuff knocked over? His story didn’t make a lot of sense to me. His version of the incident couldn’t be plausible.”
Nick Firkus ended up going free for more than a decade until investigator Nicole Sipes took over the case. As part of the new investigation, Nicole reached out to Nick Firkus’ new wife who gave her a recording that ultimately led to Firkus’ arrest.
CBS’ official description for tonight’s new, December 1, 2023 episode 10 of 48 Hours season 37 reads like this,”At 6:30 in the morning of April 25, 2010, Heidi Firkus called 911 after her husband, Nick Firkus, said an intruder was breaking into their home. She was shot and killed and Nick Firkus told investigators that his gun discharged when he struggled with the intruder. Minnesota-born correspondent Jamie Yuccas reports on the investigation in 48 HOURS: “Death at the Front Door: Who Shot Heidi Firkus?”
An alternate description tells us, “A MINNESOTA WIFE SHOT AND KILLED IN HER HOME – A 911 CALL AND AN EAR WITNESS TELL THE STORY OF A BURGLARY, BUT EVIDENCE AT THE SCENE POINTS TO A DIFFERENT KILLER.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 10 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 is indeed scheduled to hit your TV screens tonight, December 2, 2023, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
