New 20/20 January 12, 2024 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back with some excellent news for you guys because the folks over at ABC do have another new 20/20 episode all cooked up and ready to go tonight, January 12, 2024. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s new episode will be the 12th one for 20/20’s current season 46, and we’ve got some new preview intel for it to run by you guys.
ABC served up an official press release for tonight’s new episode 12. So, we will definitely take a look at it for this preview session. Let’s get after it.
First thing’s first. We’ve got an official title for this new episode 12 of 20/20 season 46. It’s called, “Missing From the Mall.” In tonight’s new, January 12, 2024 episode 12, the 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a female college student named Dru Sjodin.
Way back in November of 2003, she vanished all of a sudden from the parking lot of a local mall while trying to finish up some Christmas shopping activities. The investigation for this case led the police to a man named Alfonso Rodriguez. He was a local man in the area with a history of violence. The trial ended with the very first death sentence ever handed out in North Dakota in over 100 years, but it was eventually overturned. Nightline co-anchor Juju Chang handled the reporting duties for this case and episode.
This episode features interviews with: Allan Sjodin, Dru’s father, who hasn’t spoken on national TV since Alfonso Rodriguez’s death sentence was overturned. The episode also includes interviews with Deputy Chief Bill Macki and former detective Orie Oksendhal, two of the original detectives on the case; Sven Sjodin, Dru’s brother, who was an instrumental part of the initial search efforts to find his sister; Britni Schmalz, Dru’s sorority sister; Jean Ann Bienek, Dru’s manager at Victoria’s Secret; and Shirley Iverson, who survived a previous attack from Alfonso Rodriguez.
Additional interviews include Special Agent Chris Boeckers of the FBI; Maria Awes, an investigative journalist; Drew Wrigley, the current North Dakota attorney general who prosecuted the case while serving as the North Dakota U.S. attorney 20 years ago; and additional law enforcement officers and family and friends of the victim.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, January 12, 2024 episode 12 of 20/20 season 46 reads like this, “When a college student vanishes from a mall parking lot, police hunt her killer.”
ABC’s press release confirmed that the next, new episode 12 of 20/20’s current season 46 is indeed scheduled to show up on your TV screens tonight, January 12, 2024, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time. Tonight’s new episode will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
