Survivor May 22, 2024 Winner Revealed In Finale Episode (Recap)
Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, May 22, 2024, the very last finale episode of Survivor’s current season 46 did indeed arrive, and we finally found out who won this entire season when it wrapped up. Tonight’s new episode kicked off with more talk about the last tribal council meeting, which finally sent Q packing for the jury.
Maria told the private cams, “I messed up by trying to get Charlie out.” She told Charlie those other 3 are still out for us.” Charlie said, “I still wanna work with you. We’re down to the final 5.” Charlie told the private cams, “I would’ve done the same thing to Maria. I gotta keep every option open to go for the million.”
Liz told the private cams, “Q got played, and I’m so excited.” Maria told the private cams, “There’s a massive target on me. I’ve gotta fight as hard as I can to win this thing.”
After all of that, host Jeff Probst showed up with a new immunity challenge. During it, they had to race through a series of obstacles. Retrieve a rope and get a key. Then, use a key to unlock puzzle pieces, which revealed a clue to a combination lock. The first person to unlock the combination lock, won.
Kenzie ended up winning the immunity challenge with Liz’s help. Liz helped Kenzie retrieve the clue she needed to unlock the combination lock. Afterwards, Kenzie told Maria, “You’re such a bada*^. It took two of us to win over you.”
This immunity challenge also doubled as a reward challenge. So, Kenzie also won a trip to the sanctuary for pasta, Ceasar’s salad, desserts and more. Kenzie got to choose one extra person to join her. She chose Ben to go with her.
Kenzie told the private cams, “The main goal for the immunity challenge was to not let Maria win, and Liz stepped up and helped me do it. She’s like a secret assassin.”
At the rewards feast, Ben told Kenzie, “Unless Maria pulls an idol or blindside, she’s done.” Maria went searching for a hidden immunity idol with no luck. So, she tried to do some more campaigning. Maria told Kenzie, “Ben is untrustworthy. He didn’t accidentally write your name down a few tribal council meetings ago.” Kenzie told Maria, “I just don’t think I can beat you in a final three.” Kenzie told the private cams, “Maria’s arguments are so good, it makes me want to get her out even more.”
Maria made a similar pitch about Ben to Liz, and it seemed to make her think about it because she made such good points. Charlie told the private cams, “Ben could get some of my jury votes, and that’s dangerous.”
At the tribal council meeting, Kenzie told Maria, “You would beat all of us in a final three. So, I have to write your name down.” Everyone cast their votes. Ben got 1 vote, and Maria received 3 votes. So, with the 3 votes, Maria was indeed voted off. She gave everyone a hug on the way out and said, “It’s been a pleasure, guys.” She told the private cams, “I feel amazing. I played such a good game. It’s good to know that at my age of 47, I still got it.”
Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with the final Immunity challenge. During it, they had to solve a puzzle while a ball rolled down a large table maze for the win. They had to catch the ball before it reached the end.
If they let the ball drop too far and hit a track, they had to wait for the ball to make it all the way through the track to start work on their puzzle again, giving everyone else more time to complete their puzzle. Ben just edged out Kenzie to win it, guaranteeing himself a spot in the final three. He also got to choose who had to make fire to make it to the final three.
Ben told Liz that he thinks he will ask her to make fire. Liz said, “Well, that’s it for me. I’m not winning the fire-making challenge.” Liz told the private cams, “I’m still not gonna give up.” Charlie actually did campaign to Ben to take him to the final three saying, “Kenzie will probably be able to beat Liz in the fire challenge anyways.” Ben told the private cams, “This is a really tough choice because Charlie’s been my number one since the start. Kenzie’s been there for me through all my panic attacks.”
At the tribal council meeting, Ben chose to take Charlie to the final three and made Kenzie and Liz do the fire-making challenge. Kenzie was having trouble at first, but she eventually got her flame going good enough to burn the rope and won the challenge. Liz jokingly said, “It would’ve been all over for you guys. I would’ve beaten all of you.” Liz told the private cams, “I was so close. I’m so pissed. I did everything I thought I would do. I would’ve won, but now I’m here.”
After all of that, the final three: Kenzie, Ben and Charlie made their pitches to the jury at the last tribal council meeting as to why they should win this season of Survivor.
Kenzie said, “I had to play in a way that made Q think it was his idea to make things happen. I continuously gained Q’s trust until I could get him out. My social game was a strategic game. I wasn’t the loudest person, but I was always an important vote.”
Ben said,”I had to rely on my social game. I listened to people’s plans and slipped through the cracks. I was very emotional, but that opened the doors for me to make bonds.”
Charlie said, “The Hunter vote-off was a big move for me. I made moves to get Q to invite me into the 6 alliance. I used Tevin at some point. I put pieces in place to set up Maria’s demise before she threw a punch at me.”
After all that, the jury cast their votes for the winner of this season. Ben got 0 votes, Charlie got 3 votes, and Kenzie got 5 votes, which shockingly included Maria’s vote. So, with the 5 votes, Kenzie Petty is the winner of season 46 of Survivor and the whopping $1 million dollar grand prize! How do you guys feel about that? Let us know in the comments section.
