20/20 August 23, 2024 Repeat Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back in your faces to let you know that the ABC people are throwing another repeat episode of 20/20 your way tonight, August 23, 2024. As a reminder, be sure to look out for brand new episodes to finally start up again when the new season 47 premieres on September 20, 2024.
As for right now, we do have some preview information for tonight’s repeat episode via ABC’s press release for it. Tonight’s repeat episode is titled, “Gone Before the Storm.” It’s the 22nd episode of the 44th season. It originally aired way, way back on May 6, 2022.
In tonight’s repeat episode, the 20/20 team took a deep look at a story about a 12 year old, Ohio boy named Anthony Harris. Way back in 1998, Anthony confessed to killing his 5 year old neighbor Devan Duniver.
Later, Anthony and his parents claimed the police coerced his confession via some intimidating interrogation tactics. Anthony eventually got his conviction overturned via an appeal. ABC News’ John Quinones interviewed Anthony Harris in this episode. The timeline is 26 years later. This episode also featured interviews with key trial witnesses, search party members and more.
NBC’s official description for this repeat episode of 20/20 reads like this, “In 1998, 12-year-old Anthony Harris confessed to murdering his 5-year-old neighbor Devan Duniver in a small town in Ohio. But even after a judge found him guilty, Harris and his lawyers maintained his innocence, saying that police coerced his confession using intimidating interrogation techniques on the child.
After spending two years in juvenile detention, Harris won his appeal and later had his conviction overturned. ABC News’ John Quiñones sits down with Harris, more than 26 years later, to discuss the reason he confessed to a crime he did not commit, the psychological damage he experienced, and the search for Duniver in the woods behind her home where her body was found.
With Duniver’s killer still at large, the program also features interviews with key trial witnesses and search party members who offer information about a suspicious mystery man they allegedly saw lurking at the search. It also reports on how, as a result of the “20/20″ interviews, the district attorney asked authorities to speak to these witnesses, reigniting the case.” An alternate description tells us, “John Quiñones uncovers information reigniting a 20-year-old unsolved murder case.”
Again, TV guide confirmed that 20/20 will be back with another repeat episode tonight, August 23, 2024 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
