MasterChef August 28, 2024 Eliminated Jeet & Daniela (Recap)

Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, August 28, 2024, another new set of two episodes for MasterChef’s current season 14 hit the air, and we saw two more unlucky contestants get sent packing at the end of them.

Episode 1 kicked off with the judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich telling all the remaining contestants that the generations teams theme ended. So, no generation team would be saved by someone from their generation winning the challenge.

They were presented with their latest challenge, which was a tag team challenge. They had to make four dishes during it. They were King Trumpet Mushroom Scallops, Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna, a Pan-Roasted Filet Mignon and a Crepes Suzette with Chantilly Cream. They were given 75 minutes to do it.

Rebecka won an advantage for this challenge since she was captain of the winning team in the last challenge. Her advantage was getting to choose who got paired up for this challenge. She chose to pair up Hallie with Warren. Daniela with Horacio. Kamay with Murt. Adam with Jeet. Michael with Kimberly and Becca with Rebekah. Two immunity pins and guaranteed spots in the top 10 were up for grabs. One person from the losing team went home.

During this challenge, Murt had issues with Kamay dictating how he should do things. Gordon got on to Jeet and Adam for not cooking their meat yet by the time they switched. Meanwhile, everyone else had already cooked their meat.

Kamay complained about Murt causing them to waste a lot of time correcting his mistakes. Rebecka complained about Becca barking out orders to her. Adam said he was disappointed in Jeet’s leadership skills. “I’m afraid we’re not going to get this done in time,” he said.

Kamay and Murt ran late on cooking the mushrooms. Kamay and Murt said they didn’t finish the brussel sprouts or the kale. Becca told the private cams, “I had high hopes for Rebecka and I, and it just didn’t play out.”

After the 75 minutes was up, Hallie and Warren presented their dish first. Gordon said, “It’s delicious. Seasoned beautifully.” Joe said, “Well done.” Aaron said, “I love how the ginger came through on the sauce.” Gordon said, “Beautiful mid rare steak. Well done. The crepes are delicious.” Joe said, “This is a success from my perspective.”

Horacio and Daniela presented their dish. Gordon said,”It looks a bit dry.” Joe said, “The mushrooms are cooked perfectly. Too bad the dish is incomplete.” Gordon said, “The tuna is delicious. Spot on. The filet mignon is beautiful mid rare.” Joe said, “The steak is delicious.” Gordon said, “The crepes are absolutely delicious.”

Kamay and Murt presented their dishes. Gordon said, “It’s undercooked, taste woody and missing the kale. The tuna is cooked beautifully. The filet mignon only cooked medium and no salt.” Joe said, ” What did you do for 75 minutes? The crepes looks like my kid’s socks.”

Adam and Jeet presented their dishes. Gordon said, “The mushrooms look undercooked.” Joe said, “They look like dirty water.” Aaron said, “The sauce is a disgrace.” Gordon said, “The steak is overcooked. The crepes look pretty bad. The sauce tastes decent.” Joe said, “The crepes are like eating a kitchen sponge.”

Michael and Kimberly presented their dishes. Gordon said, “The mushrooms are seasoned beautifully. The tuna is cooked beautifully. The filet looks delicious. It’s a beautiful mid rare.” Aaron said, “The sauce is so compelling and delicious.” Gordon said the crepes taste really good. Well done.”

Rebekah and Becca presented their dishes. Gordon said, “The mushrooms look undercooked.” Aaron said, “It’s a shame.” Gordon said, “The steak is seasoned nicely. The crepes sauce taste good. The crepes needed a little more cooking.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Michael and Kimberly were the best team. So, they won immunity from next challenge.

They decided that the bottom three teams were Rebecka and Becca, Kamay and Murt and Adam and Jeet. Then, they said Adam and Jeet were the worst team, and they decided to eliminate Jeet. Gordon told Jeet, “The tuna and filet were way overcooked, and you didn’t step up.” Jeet told the private cams, “I never thought I’d make it this far. So, I’m very proud at what I accomplished.”

In the second episode, the remaining contestants learned they had to make a restaurant quality dish with coffee as the main ingredient in at least two different ways. Gordon did a demonstration before they started. After that, they were given 45 minute to complete this challenge.

Michael and Kimberly did not have to do this challenge since they won the last challenge. They also got to pick three contestants to cook a dessert with coffee. They chose Adam, Rebecka and Becca to make the desserts. The Other contestants got make whatever they wanted with the coffee.

During this challenge, Becca said she doesn’t even drink coffee. So, she’s going to have a really tough time with this. Becca told Gordon she’s making a no-bake coffee cheesecake dish. Warren told Joe he’s making a red cabbage dish.

Murt told Gordon he’s making a deconstructed stuffed pepper dish. Daniela said she was making a chicken breast dish. At one point, Rebecka said she had to start over with her cringle cakes dessert dish with just 25 minutes left to go because she messed it up.

Horacio told Gordon he was making steak and corn dish. Kamay told Aaron and Joe she’s making a lambchop dish. Adam told Gordon he’s making a coffee pana cotta dish. Adam told the private cams that his pana cotta dish didn’t set properly, but he has to put something on the plate. Rebecka said, “I’m really not happy with my cake. I’m worried it might be raw at the bottom.”

After the 45 minutes was up, the judges looked at all the dishes and decided the best dishes belonged to Kamay, Murt and Warren. Kamay presented a coffee rubbed lambchop dish. Gordon said, “It’s cooked beautifully. The carrots are exceptional. Good job.” Aaron said, “Great spices.” Joe said, “The coffee was integrated perfectly.”

Murt presented a deconstructed stuffed pepper dish. Gordon said, “It looks good. It’s delicious. I like it. Good job.” Aaron said, “It’s a magical dish. Nice depth of flavor.” Joe said, “I like the appeal of this dish.”

Warren presented a coffee crusted veal chop dish. Gordon said, “The veal is delicious. Nice pairing with the coffee.” Aaron said, “Great seasoning. I really enjoyed it.” Joe said, “Good job.” After all of that, the judges decided that Kamay had the best dish.

Next, the judges said the worst dishes belonged to Adam, Rebecka and Daniela. Rebecka presented a coffee custard crinkle cake dish. Gordon said, “The flavor of the custard is good.” Aaron said, “The flavor of custard is fantastic.” Joe said, “It’s just not that good.”

Adam presented a coffee panna cotta dish. Gordon said, “It looks a mess. No way it would set in 25 minutes. The flavor is delicious, but it’s not set properly. It definitely took you down.” Aaron said, “This has a lot of technical issues.” Joe said, “It should’ve set like a firm jello. Instead, you can drink it like a milkshake. It’s no good.”

Daniela presented a coffee crusted chicken breast dish. Gordon said, “The chicken is way undercooked.” Aaron said, “There’s a lot of raw spice. The sauce needed to be cooked out.” Joe said, “I don’t like anything about this dish.”

After all of that, the judges decided that Daniela had the worst dish. So, she was eliminated. Gordon told Daniela, “Timing got the better of you, and the chicken was undercooked.” Daniela told the private cams, “Ambition got the best of me, but I still feel proud of myself. I’m leaving much better than I arrived.”
