New 60 Minutes September 15 Brand New Episode To Air. Preview Revealed
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. We’ve got some terrific news for you guys. Apparently, the CBS folks have bumped up the new season 57 premiere date to tonight, September 15, 2024, for 60 Minutes. So, you guys are going to get a brand new episode tonight, which is just the start of a whole slew of more new episodes to come. We’ve got some new preview information for tonight’s new season 57 episode.
The CBS people put out an official press release for tonight’s new episode. So, we’re going to certainly dig into it for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
Tonight’s new, premiere episode 1 of 60 Minutes season 57 will feature a total of three new segments. The first segment is officially titled, “THE PROSECUTION OF JAN. 6.” CBS’ official description for it reads like this, “More than 1,000 Americans have been convicted in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol that stopped the count of electoral votes and triggered the largest prosecution in U.S. history.
As the FBI continues to search for suspects, Scott Pelley meets with some of those at the center of the story: a man who was among the first to breach the Capitol, a Metropolitan police officer who was injured that day, a retired judge who studied the 2020 election and top prosecutor U.S. attorney Matthew Graves. Aaron Weisz is the producer.”
The second segment is titled, “DANGER IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA.” CBS’ description for it reads like this, “It’s been called “the most dangerous conflict no one is talking about,” and Cecilia Vega sees firsthand just how dangerous it can be when the Philippine ship she is traveling on gets rammed by China’s coast guard.
Vega examines how the growing tensions between China and the Philippines over territory in the South China Sea could lead to U.S. involvement. Andy Court and Jacqueline Williams are the producers.”
The 3rd and final segment for tonight’s new episode is titled, “DUA LIPA.” CBS’ description for it reads like this, “Many teenagers want to become pop stars, but few convince their parents to let them pack their bags and move to another country to make it big.
That’s precisely what Dua Lipa did when she was 15 years old, trading Pristina, Kosovo, for London. Anderson Cooper talks with her about her journey from unknown songwriter to international sensation, with her songs streaming more than 45 billion times. John Hamlin is the producer.”
Again, CBS’ press release confirmed that the new, premiere season 1 episode of 60 Minutes’ new season 57 is indeed scheduled to finally make its way to the air tonight, September 15, 2024 in the 6:30 pm central standard time slot, or after their LIVE coverage of an NFL football game wraps up. Whichever comes first.
