Dancing With The Stars September 24 Episode 2 Preview Reveals Double Elimination & More

Hey, “Dancing With The Stars” fans. We’re back to let you know that the ABC folks are serving up another edition of Dancing With The Stars tonight, September 24, 2024. This one will be the second episode of this current season 33, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.

ABC put out an official press release for tonight’s new episode 2. So, we’re going to certainly refer to it for this preview session. Let’s get started.

The first thing ABC let us know is that the theme for tonight’s new episode 2 is Oscars Night. That means you’re going to see all the couples dance only to songs from Oscar-Nominated films. There’s also going to be a double elimination tonight, ooh. It sounds like ABC is trying to get this season wrapped up quick.


Anyways, you guys will also see an opening performance to the “Hooray For Hollywood” song. The dance couples will perform Rumba, Jive, Foxtrot, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Waltz, Salsa and Tango routines.

During tonight’s LIVE episode, the fans will get to vote for their favorite dance couples. After all the performances wrap up, the votes from the first two weeks of performances will be tabulated and result in not just one, but two couples getting eliminated! It’s double elimination night since no one got eliminated last week.

ABC’s official description for tonight’s new episode 2 of Dancing With The Stars season 33 reads like this,”Oscars(R) Night” – Hollywood glitz meets ballroom glamour when all 13 couples grace the stage with dazzling performances, dancing to iconic songs from Oscar(R)-nominated films.

The night will feature an award-worthy opening number to “Hooray For Hollywood” by Richard A. Whiting, Boston Pops Orchestra & John Williams, choreographed by Britt Stewart and Alan Bersten with partner dances, including the Rumba, Jive, Foxtrot, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Waltz, Salsa and Tango.

Fans will be able to vote during the live simulcast of the show in the ET/CT time zones. During this time, online voting will be available to fans in any time zone in the U.S., its territories and Canada via dwtsvote.abc.com, and fans on participating U.S. wireless carriers can also vote via SMS/text (fans in Canada cannot vote via SMS/text). Live viewer votes from the first two weeks of competition will be combined with the judges’ scores from both weeks to determine which couples may be in jeopardy of a double elimination.”

An alternate description tells us, “All 13 Couples Will Perform Dances to Songs From Oscar(R)-Nominated Films as They Face a Double Elimination.”

ABC also revealed what dances the couples will be performing tonight. Danny Amendola and pro Witney Carson will perform a Jive to “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins. Anna Delvey and pro Ezra Sosa will perform a Quickstep to “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall.

Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson will perform a Rumba to “Shallow” by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper. Dwight Howard and pro Daniella Karagach will perform a Foxtrot to “City Of Stars” by Ryan Gosling.

Chandler Kinney and pro Brandon Armstrong will perform a Rumba to “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish. Ilona Maher and pro Alan Bersten will perform a Salsa to “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes.

Brooks Nader and pro Gleb Savchenko will perform a Quickstep to “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. Stephen Nedoroscik and pro Rylee Arnold will perform a Paso Doble to “Superman – Main Theme” by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Phaedra Parks and pro Val Chmerkovskiy will perform a Foxtrot to “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Hudson. Eric Roberts and pro Britt Stewart will perform a Waltz to “The Godfather Waltz” by Nino Rota & Carlo Savina.

Tori Spelling and pro Pasha Pashkov will perform a Rumba to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble. Jenn Tran and pro Sasha Farber will perform a Tango to “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” by Fergie, Q-Tip & GoonRock. Reginald VelJohnson and pro Emma Slater will perform a Paso Doble to “Ode To Joy” by Beethoven.

ABC’s press release confirmed that Dancing With The Stars season 33, new episode 2 is indeed hitting the air tonight, September 24, 2024 in the 7 pm central standard time slot.
