New 20/20 November 1 Episode Preview Reveals A Halloween Death Scandal And More
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back with another new preview session for you guys. In this one, we’re going to be taking a look at what is coming up on the next, new episode 7 of this current season 47, which is due out tonight, November 1, 2024.
We were able to track down an official press release for this new episode 7 from the ABC people. So, we’re going to certainly see exactly what it has to say right now. Let’s get to it.
First thing’s first. We’ve got an official title for this new episode 7 It’s called, “Her Last Halloween.” In tonight’s new episode 7, the 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a woman named Karen Smith. She was a mother and wife before she ,all of a sudden, turned up missing after attending a Halloween party.
The investigators who worked this case eventually found Karen’s car abandoned by the side of the road near a cemetery over in Dyersburg, Tennessee. They also found her smashed cell phone along with the fact that Karen and her husband David were having marital problems, which led to him becoming the prime suspect, but his trial ended as a mistrial since the jury was deadlocked. Now, David is scheduled for a retrial for the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.
This episode will feature exclusive interviews with: David’s ex-wife Kelly Essman, his friend Kim Greene, and Ashley Swift, Karen and David’s daughter. Viewers will also hear from Danny Goodman, the district attorney general for the 29th Judicial District of Tennessee, Terry McCreight, chief investigator of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Taylor, a criminal defense attorney, and Holly Sutton, a friend of Karen and David.
ABC’s official description for this new episode 7 of 20/20’s current season 47 reads like this, “Karen, a devoted wife and mother, seemingly vanished after returning home from a Halloween party, leading to shockwaves among her friends and family when her body was found near a cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
The investigation into her death uncovered troubling details, including her abandoned car and a smashed cell phone discovered on the side of the road. Additionally, in a chilling coincidence, both Karen’s and her neighbor’s dogs were found poisoned just weeks prior to her disappearance.
As authorities dug deeper into this case, they discovered that Karen and her husband, David, had been experiencing marital difficulties, which ultimately led to David becoming the prime suspect. During the initial trial, he was acquitted of the most serious murder charges, but the jury was deadlocked on a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, resulting in a mistrial. David is now scheduled for retrial on that charge and has pleaded not guilty.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that another new episode of 20/20 is indeed scheduled to hit the air tonight, November 1, 2024 in the 8 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 2-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time.
