New 60 Minutes January 5 Episode Delayed, Preempted. Not Airing Tonight
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. Unfortunately, we have some really bad news to dish out to you in this article because the CBS people are not airing a new episode of 60 Minutes tonight, January 5, 2025, due to some other TV obligations they are fulfilling.
Yeah, what CBS has going on tonight is that they are providing LIVE coverage of an NFL football game that features the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Denver Broncos. This coverage is scheduled to take up the entire 6 pm to 7 pm central standard time slot that 60 Minutes usually occupies.
CBS’ official description for their LIVE coverage of this NFL football game reads like this, “NFL Football. Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Live. The Broncos (9-7) can clinch their first postseason berth since winning Super Bowl 50 with a victory over the AFC West rival Chiefs (15-1). Two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City has already wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.”
Then, right after their LIVE, NFL football game coverage wraps up, CBS is going to provide LIVE coverage for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. It will take up the 7 pm to 10 pm central standard time slots.
CBS’ official description for their LIVE coverage of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards reads like this, “82nd Annual Golden Globes Live. Comic Nikki Glaser hosts the annual award show honoring achievements in both film and television.”
If any of you guys find CBS’ alternate line programming to be enticing, you might still want to keep them on your primetime watchlist tonight to check all of that out. If you only want to watch a new episode of 60 Minutes, you will certainly want to make some alternate plans for tonight as quickly as you can.
Again, it’s been confirmed by CBS and the TV Guide listings that 60 Minutes is preempted/delayed tonight, January 5, 2025.
