Survivor February 26 Voted Off Stephanie Berger In Premiere Episode (Recap)

Earlier tonight, February 26, 2025, CBS aired the very first, premiere episode 1 for Survivor’s current season 48, and we found out who got voted off first at the end of it.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with the usual introductions of the new contestants. There were a total of 18 of them. After the introductions, They were split up into three tribes: Civa, Vula and Lagi. Right after that, they were hit with their very first challenge. The prize was supplies for their camp.

In the competition, they raced to collect a chest and keys to the chest. They used the keys to unlock the chests, which contained sand bags. They had to land three sand bags on a platform without them falling off for the win. The Lagi tribe won it.

The Vula and Civa tribes got another chance to win supplies through a different comp. They had to choose a person from their tribe to compete for it. Vula chose Kevin, and Civa chose Kyle to compete for them.

At Lagi, Thomas told the private cams that he, Shauhin and Joe bonded. Bianca told the private cams that she really likes Thomas. Thomas also said he got good vibes from Bianca.

At Vula, Sai locked in Justin and Cedric as alliance members. Kyle and Kevin competed for their supplies. In this comp, they competed directly against each other to retrieve a key by racing to the ocean to fill pots with water to put in a huge jug that contained the key. The first one to fill up their jug enough to get their key out, won.

Kyle ended up, breaking his jug by accident, which immediately disqualified him from the comp. So, Kevin filled up his jug and got the key for the win.

At Vula, Kevin and Mary got along well. Sai eventually pulled Kevin into her alliance with Cedic and Justin.

At Lagi, Eva told the private cams, “I think I can trust Joe. I want him to be my number one in this game.” So, she approached him with that offer. He seemed to accept it. So, Eva was elated.

At Vula, Sai told her alliance people to go look for the hidden idol. That caused some of the other women to get concerned. Sai eventually found the beware advantage. It contained some coded numbers that she had to use to unlock a canister-like object with a combination lock on it. She also lost her vote for tribal council until she was able to unlock the canister and get the idol.

At Lagi, Star went searching for an idol. Other people noticed, and they expressed some concern.

Shauhin, Thomas and Joe aligned, and they brought in Eva, and they called themselves the California Girls alliance. In private, Eva told Joe about her autism. Joe told the private cams, “I’m honored that Eva trust me so much, and I have her back in this game even if it messes up my game.”

At Civa, Kyle and Kamilla connected. At Vula, Sai finally figured out the code to unlock the canister, and she got her immunity idol along with her ability to vote at the next tribal council meeting.

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with the new immunity challenge. During it, they had to make it through some obstacles and solve a puzzle for the win.

Lagi took the first place win, and Civa took the second place win for immunity. So, Vula lost and had to figure out who to send home at the tribal council meeting.

This immunity challenge also doubled as a rewards challenge. Lagi won a large survivor toolkit for finishing first. Civa won a small Survivor toolkit for finishing second. Vula got their flint taken away for losing.

At Vula, Stephanie took the blame, saying she screwed up on the puzzle. Mary told the private cams, “I don’t trust Sai. I want her out.” Justin agreed with Mary’s opinion of Sai, and they both told Stephanie they would not target her.

Sai told her alliance she wanted Stephanie out. Kevin told the private cams that he was conflicted with siding with Mary to get Sai out, or rolling with Sai to get Stephanie out. Kevin told Justin, “It’s not the worst thing for Sai to go since she has an idol.” They both agreed about that.

At the Vula tribal council meeting, Sai and Stephanie had a little back and forth argument about how Survivor should be played. So, that was interesting. Stephanie played her shot in the dark before the votes were read. It gave her a 1 out of 6 chance at safety, but her card said, “not safe.” So, all votes against her still counted.

Sai ended up getting one vote, and Stephanie got 3 votes. So, with the 3 votes, Stephanie did get voted off the island. She was a good sport about it and said,”Good luck, guys” on the way out.

Stephanie told the private cams, “I just got voted out first. I don’t have a ton of regrets. I got to push myself in ways I didn’t know that I could. I appreciate the opportunity.”
