The Voice March 31 Knockouts Eliminated Grace-Miller, Dan, Simone & Trevon (Recap)
Earlier tonight, March 31, 2025, NBC aired another new episode of The Voice’s current season 27, and it featured the first round of the Knockouts portion of this season.
All the coaches/judges: John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Buble, and Adam Levine were on hand. In this round, the coaches picked two contestants from their team to sing off against each other by singing a song of their choice.
Afterwards, the coach of that team chose a winner to move on to the Playoffs round. There were no saves available for this round, and each coach got a chance to steal one of the losing contestants.
First up to bat was BD.ii vs. Kolby Cordell from Team John Legend. BD sang “Back To One” by Brian McKnight. Kolby sang “Lately” by Stevie Wonder.
Afterwards, Adam said, “I was transfixed by BD, and I wonder if there was strain in Kolby’s voice.” Kelsea said, “I liked BD’s song choice, and Kolby reminds me of Legend.” Michael said BD’s song choice was emotional, and I liked Kolby’s raspiness.”
John said, “Kolby has a soulful, raspy voice. I was concerned about BD’s song choice at first, but it wound up being fantastic.” John chose BD as the winner. Adam and Michael immediately wanted to steal Kolby. Kolby choose to join Team Adam.
Next up was Grace-Miller Moody vs Lucia Flores-Wiseman from Team Adam. Grace-Miller sang “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. Lucia sang “Slow It Down” by Benson Boone.
Afterwards, Kelsea said, “Lucia is a modern day Amy Whinehouse, and Grace-Miller offered the perfect amount of female rage.” Michael said, “I enjoyed Grace-Miller the more she got into the song, and I liked Lucia’s vibrato.”
John said, “I liked the clarity in Grace-Miller’s voice, but I would’ve chosen Lucia.” Adam said, “Grace-Miller has a way that her voice cuts that is special. Lucia embodies all the best things about what a singer should be.” Adam ultimately chose Lucia as the winner. So, Grace-Miller was eliminated
Next, it was Dan Kiernan vs. Tinika Wyatt from Team Kelsea. Tinika sang “Best of My Love” by The Emotions. Dan sang “Impossible” by Shontelle.
Afterwards, Michael said,”Dan was entertaining, and I felt the Holy Spirit ripping through me during Tinika’s performance.” John said,”I liked Dan’s intention behind each note. Tinika sang her face off.”
Adam said,”Dan’s voice fills the whole room, and Tinika’s vocal lit up the room.” Kelsea said,”I feel a connection to Dan, but I think it’s a joy as a coach to be in Tinika’s presence.” Kelsea chose Tinika as the winner. So, Dan Kiernan was Eliminated
Next, Barry Jean Fontenot sang off against Simone Marijic from Team Michael Buble. Simone sang “She Used To Be Mine” by Sara Bareilles. Barry sang “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble.
Afterwards, Kelsea said, “Barry is magnetic, and Simone has a musical theater quality to her voice.” John said,”Barry, you should add artistry and flavor going forward, and I liked Simone’s cracks.” Adam said,”Barry, you should let go more, and Simone was connected.” Michael said, “I liked Simone’s effortless falsetto. Barry is loveable, and he did a great job.” Michael chose Barry as the winner. So, Simone was eliminated.
Ethan Eckenroad sang off against Trevon Dawson of Team Adam Levine. Ethan sang a slowed down version of “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty. Trevon sang “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks and Dunn
Afterwards, Chelsea said,”Trevon’s runs yummy country, and I liked Ethan’s imperfections.” Michael said, “Ethan’s interpretation was beautiful, and Trevon reminds me of myself.” John said,”I liked the crackle in Trevon’s voice, and Ethan is like a male songbird.” Adam said,”I loved Trevon’s youthfulness and the way Ethan captures people.” Adam chose Ethan as the winner. So, Trevon was eliminated.
To wrap up the performances for this, Angie Rey sang off against Iris Herrera of Team Kelsea. Iris sang “Jolene” by Ray LaMontagne. Angie sang “Dirt Cheap” by Cody Johnson.
Afterwards, Michael said, “Angie has a rich, soulful depth, and Iris has a unique voice.” John said, “Iris is a compelling singer, and Angie’s voice felt centered and spiritual.” Adam said, “I’ve seen the most growth from Angie, and I liked Iris from the beginning.”
Kelsea said,”You both have a firecracker quality. Iris’s voice is a storyteller voice, and Angie is amazing.” Kelsea chose Iris as the winner, and Michael stole Angie.
