Survivor April 2 Voted Off Charity Nelms, And The Merge Happened (Recap)

Earlier tonight, April 2, 2025, CBS aired another new episode of Survivor’s current season 48, and we saw another contestant get voted off at the end of it and more.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with talk about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Bianca packing. Sai told Cedrek, “I’m not open to talking to you because you continue to lie.”

Cedrek told the private cams, “I told Chrissy to vote for Bianca.” Cedrek told everyone, “Bianca told me five minutes before the tribal council meeting that she didn’t have a vote.” Sai eventually apologized to Cedrek.

Mitch told the private cams, “I voted for Sai to go, and I looked like a fool.” After all of that, the tribes got a note that told them it’s time for the merge. Chrissy told the private cams, “Cedrek needs to get rid of Sai. He’s going to drown with that girl.”

Then, they were told that another new challenge was coming up, and an advantage for it is hidden. Go find it. So, everyone scrambled to find it. Sai eventually found the advantage.

Joe told the private cams, “I’m excited to reconnect with Eva.” They both agreed they’re still each other’s number one in the game. Eva told Joe that she has Star’s immunity idol. Joe told David he wants to work with him. David and Kyle agreed that they’re working with Eva, Joe and Shauhin. However, Kyle told the private cams that Kamilla is his number one.

Charity told the private cams that she wants to get Eva out first and break up her strong alliance. Charity told Star to go to Eva and ask for her immunity idol back. Star told the private cams, “Me and Eva are friends now.” So, Star told Eva what Charity said, and Eva told the private cams, “Charity is my target now. Let’s send her home.”

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up to tell them how things will work to get to the merge. They were given a first challenge, which required them to be split up into two teams of six. In this challenge, they had to make it through some obstacles, get a key. Climb a up a ramp and complete a Survivor puzzle for the win.

The winning team won a merge meal, but that didn’t mean they made it to the merge yet. The winning 6 had to compete in another challenge. The winner of that second challenge, made the merge. Then, everyone who survived the next tribal council meeting made it to the merge.

Sai’s advantage allowed her to skip the first team challenge and go straight through to the merge challenge and merge meal.

The two teams were team Purple and team Orange. Mary, Chrissy, Kamilla, David, Star, and Klye were on team Purple. Mitch Charity Joe, Cedrek, Shauhin and Eva were on team Orange.

Team Purple won to claim the merge meal. Team orange lost. So, there was no merge meal for them. Team Purple immediately played the merge challenge. During it, they had to balance a balloon ball on a stick. The last one balancing their ball without it dropping won for guaranteed immunity and a spot in the merge.

It came down to Kyle and Star, and Kyle just edged out Star to win it. So, Kyle won immunity, and a guaranteed spot in the merge.

At the merge meal, Charity’s name was thrown out as a target. However, Sai told the private cams that she wanted to get Eva out because she has an idol.

Charity told the private cams, “I want Eva to go because she has an immunity idol,” but she thought it might be too soon to go after Eva. So, she mentioned going after Sai instead. Joe, Shauhin and Eva said they wanted Charity out.

Kyle told Eva that Sai was pitching her name as a target. Eva told the private cams, “That’s scary.” So Eva campaigned for Sai to be a target.

Mary told Joe that Sai is dangerous and plays mind games. Shauhin told the private cams, “If Sai goes home, that gives Civa six strong members, and that’s a problem.”

At the tribal council meeting, they did some general game talk before casting their votes. Sai ended up getting 5 votes, Cedrek got 1 vote, and Charity received a whopping 7 votes. So, with the 7 votes, Charity was voted off. She said, “Bye guys. Thank you” on the way out. Then, Jeff told the rest of the contestants that they officially made the merge.

Charity told the private cams, “They played the game. They did it. They got me. I give kudos to everybody. I got scooped, man. I’m sad, but I’m not bitter.”
