Survivor New Season 51 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It Early

Tonight, May 20, 2026, CBS is going to air the 13th episode of Survivor’s current season 50, and it will be the finale episode. So, we did some searching to make sure CBS did renew it for a new season 51. Happily, we can officially confirm, right now, that CBS did give it the season 51 green light.

Honestly, there was never really much doubt, but we always have to check these things to make sure. According to a recent article from Deadline.com and their sources, CBS actually gave Survivor a very early renewal announcement back in January 2026 just before season 50 started.

In this report, Deadline also mentioned that CBS renewed The Amazing Race for a brand new season 39 for an unknown future release date. So, if your also a fan of The Amazing Race, that’s double good news.

Currently, there was no official premiere date mentioned for Survivor or The Amazing Race’s new seasons. However, we are guessing that Survivor’s new season 51 will make its debut in the Fall 2026 like it always does.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Survivor season 50 averaged 5.056 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.93 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

To date, the most-viewed episode was episode 12 with 5.338 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 3 with 4.880 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 8 with a 1.04 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 9 with a 0.81 ratings score.

Again, CBS did officially renew Survivor for a brand new season 51. We will have to wait for an official premiere date announcement from CBS to give you the exact debut date.
