Disney World Added Lots Of New Entertainment Shows To Kick Off 2019
Happy Sunday, Disney World fans. If any of you were wondering what’s new at Disney World these days, this is the article for you. It turns out that they’ve got a couple of big, special events going on right now that feature some of the biggest characters in Disney World history!
First up, is a Mickey and Minnie Celebration special. According to Themeparktourist.com , this special features a refreshed Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party that runs multiple times daily on the hub in front of Cinderella Castle.
The special has also taken place at the Magic Kingdom. The Mickey and Minnie Celebration also features delicious food to curb your appetite. Some of the food items include: the mac ‘n cheese-topped Mickey Burger at Cosimic Ray’s. They’re also serving a new “Now and Forever Slush,” which is a non-alcoholic sparkling cider slush served in a Champagne flute and garnished with a white chocolate-dipped strawberry featuring Mickey and Minnie. It’s being served at the Gaston’s Tavern.
Mickey and Minnie are also scheduled to greet guests together inside Town Square Theater. They will be wearing all-new colorful outfits for their special celebration. Surprise characters will meet guests at the flagpole on Main Street USA. Some of the characters may include: Nick and Judy from Zootopia, Remy and Emile from Ratatouille, and Robin Hood and Friar Tuck from Robin Hood.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is currently hosting a special called, “Party With Pixar Pals” in advance of its 30th birthday which lands on May 1, 2019. They’ve got Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., greeting guests in Walt Disney Presents. The Incredibles are taking over the old Pixar Place land in front of the former entrance to Toy Story Mania.
During this special event, guests will be able to join in a special dance party with Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone, Meet Edna Mode, and search around for Jack-Jack as part of a scavenger hunt. The event will also feature special food, beverage, and merchandise available.
Edna Mode is meeting guests in the old Woody and Buzz meet and greet area. The Parr family is holding An Incredible Celebration dance party. Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is hosting a special for The Lion King’s 25th anniversary with a Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party, starring Timon and Rafiki. The show is taking place on the Discovery Island stage.
There’s a big special going on at Epcot. The event is called the annual “Epcot International Festival of the Arts.” It features 13 Food Studio booths and live performances by “Disney on Broadway” stars daily at the American Gardens Theatre. This particular festival is scheduled to run up until February 25, 2019.
Lastly, there’s a new “Guardians of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Live” special going on. It’s scheduled to perform daily at the America Gardens Theater at the back of Epcot’s World Showcase this summer from June 14, 2019 to August 18, 2019. The show features Star-Lord and Gamora in person as a 7-piece alien band plays many recognizable tunes from Awesome Mix Volumes 1 and 2.
There’s an official synopsis for the Guardians of The Galaxy show. It reads like this, “After saving their world from certain destruction, Peter Quill—a.k.a. Star Lord—brokered a deal with Nova Prime and the Xandarian government to bring an outreach program to his home planet. The purpose? To share Xandar’s rich heritage and culture with Earth’s people. As luck would have it, Peter informed Xandar’s leaders that there’s already a place on Earth with a similar mission… a theme park called Epcot, where all of Earth’s cultures are celebrated. So, as part of their first outreach, Xandar has sent some of their most talented performers to showcase their music!”
