‘The Bachelor’ January 20, 2020 Eliminated Alayah, Jasmine, Sarah & Alexa (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, January 20, 2020, another new episode of The Bachelor did indeed air, and we saw a very brutal elimination take place when one of the women got railroaded by speculative accusations and what not.
Tonight’s show kicked off with more of the Champagne Gate drama between Hannah Ann and Kelsey. Hannah Ann was still highly upset about being accused of stealing Kesley’s reserved wine bottle. Meanwhile,Kelsey couldn’t stop rambling on and on about how Hannah Ann accused her of being a bully.
After the Champagne Gate segment, we saw Peter take the lovely Victoria P on a 1 on 1 date. They went country line dancing at the Canyon Club. They appeared to have an absolute terrific time. They said sweet nothings to each other and kissed a couple of times while on the dance floor.
During the second half of Victoria P and Peter’s date, Victoria really broke down and opened up. She told Peter how she and her sister went in and out of shelters as children because her mother was a drug addict and so on and so forth.
She teared up about it. Peter was very moved by her story, and he said some kind words. Then they kissed. Next, Peter gave her a date rose, and more kissing commenced.
Next, they showed footage of Kelsey and Hannah Ann confronting each other again because Hannah Ann was just so sensitive that she felt the need to get this crazy Kelsey girl’s approval. During their conversation, Hannah Ann kept trying to plead with Kelsey to believe her about not trying to steal her champagne bottle, and Kelsey just basically treated her like sh#@t.
There’s just no nice way to say it. Hannah Ann even teared up at one point. I was thinking, “Hannah Ann, you should never waste a millisecond let alone a tear on this crazy Kelsey girl. You just needs to worry about talking to Peter. That’s it.”
Anyways, needless to say, the Kelsey and Hannah Ann confrontation accomplished absolutely nothing. So, we were presented with the group date footage.
Peter took: Tammy Ly, Alayah Benavidez, Sarah Coffin, Kelley Flanagan, Sydney Hightower, Shiann Lewis, Kiarra Norman, and Savannah Mullins out on this group date.
However, before we were shown the group date footage, they showed Sydney talking about how she thinks Alayah is so fake. That was followed up by former The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise 2019 star Demi Burnett waking the girls up from a deep sleep with a friggin bull horn! So, she was hilarious as usual. Demi told them it was time for them to go on their big date.
Next, the girls were seen at the Cowboy Palace Saloon for their group date. Demi was there, and she told them they’re at Demi’s Extreme Pillow Fight Club. After that, the girls fought each other by way of extreme pillow fights.
Alayah and Sydney made it to the finals of this pillow fight competition. During it, Sydney and Alayah started doing some hair pulling. It got real intense. Finally, Alayah won by wrestling Sydney down to the ground.
Afterwards, Sydney was pissed and had nothing but rude things to say about Alayah to the private cams. She called her fake and manipulative, and that she thinks Alayah is just playing games.
During the after party , Alayah flirted with Peter for a bit. She also told him, “I was abandoned by people in my past, but I have a good feeling about you.” Peter reciprocated those words, and they appeared to have a good time.
At one point, Sydney kept probing Alayah with questions and insinuating that she’s not real before walking off.
Next, Peter was seen having a good chat with Kelley. They ended up kissing. Peter and Tammy were also seen kissing at one point.
Then Sydney approached Peter, and she told him, “I’m having doubts if I’m the girl for you because some of the women you get along with are the polar opposite of me.”
Then she started pitching to Peter, “There are girls that are artificial, and I don’t want you to get blinded by that.” Peter told Sydney he appreciated her concern, and he really took it to heart.
Right after that, Peter told all the girls on the group date that it has been brought to his attention that some women might not be there for the right reasons, and that he doesn’t want to fall for someone who’s being fake.
Then he called out Sydney to mention who she thought was being fake. He basically put her on the spot, but she didn’t mind going right at Alayah and pointing out that who she had in mind as being fake.
Then Peter told Alayah if that’s true, he doesn’t have time for it. Alayah looked shock over the whole thing and swore she was not being fake. This , of course, set up a big argument between Alayah and Sydney after Peter walked off.
Alayah and Sydney went back and forth until Alayah finally walked away to go talk to Peter. She told Peter, “I was totally blindsided by what just happened.” Then she teared up saying, “I’m totally here for you. I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.” After that, Peter told the private cams he was confused as usual.
Peter went back and gave Sydney the group date rose saying, “I appreciate you looking out for me.”
Next, we saw host Chris Harrison telling all the ladies that Peter decided to have a pool party instead of a cocktail party. Chris pointed out that this pool party will be their last time to talk to Peter before the rose ceremony.
At the pool party, Peter immediately pulled Sydney aside to talk with her alone. He apologized to Sydney for putting her on the spot at the group date. Sydney told Peter she was ok, and she also gave him words of encouragement. Then they kissed
Next, Peter continued his investigative work on Alayah by asking a few of the other girls what they thought about her. Kelsey told Peter that Alayah does act differently in front of the cameras.
Natasha said Sydney wasn’t wrong about Alayah acting different in front of the cameras. Lexi echoed the same words saying, “You might not be getting a genuine version of Alayah.”
So, they basically just started verbally lynching Alayah. Next, Alayah was seen wasting her time pulling Sydney to the side to try to convince her that she’s not fake.
Needless to say, it didn’t work. Sydney had it in her mind that Alayah is fake and wouldn’t budge on her position no matter how much Alayah tried to plead her point.
At one point, Peter was seen talking to Madison. They had a good talk and kissed. After that, we finally saw Alayah pull Peter to the side to talk to him. Peter asked Alayah, ” Do see any reason why the other girls think you’re fake?”
Alayah said, “I really don’t know. Maybe it’s because I choose to be happy. If I wasn’t interested, I couldn’t fake it.” Peter said, “I believe you. There’s something I really like about you. I just want to see Alayah and no pageant Alayah.” Then they kissed and hugged.
Peter told the private cams, “What I see with Alayah, I think is true, but my logical brain sees some flags.”
Then Peter asked Victoria P about Alayah. Victoria told Peter, “Alayah asked me not to tell the producers we knew each other before the show, and she always talks about being open to all the opportunities if she doesn’t get Peter as a husband.”
So, none of the other girls were helping Alayah out at all. This really upset Peter so much that he went to talk to Alayah again.
During this conversation, Peter told Alayah, “It’s not just Sydney, but multiple women saying that you’re not genuine.” Then he asked her about what Victoria P claimed. Alayah said, “I told Victoria not to tell the producers we knew each other because I didn’t want us both to possibly get disqualified.”
Peter told her, “That doesn’t look genuine. Do you see how all that can come off as manipulative?” Alayah kept pleading that she did it to not possibly get disqualified. Then Peter finally said, “I’ve got a lot to think about.” Alayah started crying as Peter walked off.
Next, that was Chris Harrison’s queue to come running in to tell all the ladies that Peter was upset, and he’s not coming back to the pool party.
Next, we finally saw the rose ceremony footage. Peter ended up giving: Kelsey, Hannah Ann, Natasha, Lexi, Madison, Shiann, Kelley, Kiarra, Tammy, Savannah, Deandra and Mykenna as rose to join Victoria P and Sydney who received roses earlier in the show.
However, there was some drama before the rose ceremony was complete. Peter walked off to talk to Chris Harrison when he had 2 roses left. He said he wanted to give Alayah a rose so bad, but he didn’t know if it would be the right thing to do.
Next, we saw Chris take one of the final two roses away before Peter gave that last rose to Mykenna.
So, Peter decided to go ahead and eliminate Alayah along with Jasmine Nguyen, Sarah Coffin, and Alexa Caves.
Alayah told Peter, “I wish I could’ve proven how sincere I am.” Then she gave him a hug goodbye.
Alayah told the private cams, “It’s unfortunate that Peter eliminated me based on other people’s opinions and not what he saw directly from me.”
Peter was seen telling the producers, “I still have doubts about whether it was the right thing to send Alayah home. I hope I did the right thing.”
The next, new episode 4 of The Bachelor 2020 is scheduled to air next Monday night, January 27, 2020 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC. In that episode, we will see a return visit from Alayah. So, that drama is not over yet. Get ready for it.
