Dancing With The Stars November 2, 2020 Eliminated Chrishell Stause & Gleb (Recap)
Hey, “Dancing With The Stars” fans. Tonight, November 2, 2020, another LIVE performance/results episode of Dancing With The Stars season 29 did indeed air, and another unlucky couple was sent packing at the conclusion.
The judges: Derek Hough, Carrie Anne Inaba and Bruno Tonioli were, of course, back to serve up their critiques and scores.
They revealed that contestant Jeannie Mai suffered from a condition called, “epiglottitis.” She explained that it was an abscess in her throat that was spreading. So, she had to get immediate surgery. That means Jeannie had to pull out of the competition.
Tonight’s performances kicked off with Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev delivering a Jive routine.
Afterwards, Derek said, “I like the amount of jive content that was in the dance. You’re fantastic ,and you could go all the way, but you need to attack your movements more with sharper legs.”
Bruno said, ” You can do everything, but I want more passion, attack and intentions to make it look more like a jive.” Carrie Ann said, “You came back with grace and energy, and it’s one of your better dances, but I’m going to dock a point for an unauthorized lift.”
Carrie Ann gave Kaitlyn & Artem a 8 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 8 for a total of 25 points out of a possible 30 points.
Next up, was Nev Schulman and Jenna Johnson. They rocked out a Viennese Waltz number. Afterwards, Bruno said, “You were oozing charm and charisma, and you were leading your partner without pushing too hard, but you need to work on the rise and fall a little more.”
Carrie Ann said, “It was beautiful. However, you looked like you were a tiny bit off from time to time, but I still thought it was a strong routine.” Derek said, “You sat in that routine beautifully, but you need to watch your left arm.”
Carrie Ann gave Nev & Jenna a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.
Justina Machado and Sasha Farber hit the dance floor next to deliver a Samba dance. Afterwards,Carrie Ann said, “I love the way you make the audience feel despite one little stumble.”
Derek said, “I love the song. I love the samba rolls, but you need to articulate your feet a little more.” Bruno said, “You’re a tangerine dream with an exuberant, joyful presence.” However, I would like to see a little more bounce from you in the future.”
Carrie Ann gave Justina & Sasha a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.
Nelly and Daniella Karagach danced a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Derek said, “The emotion of your story transcended dance.” Nelly talked about his sister dying of Luekemia back in 2005. It was very emotional.
Bruno said, “You made Daniella shine, but there’s a movement in the feet where you need to get the right hip action and dragging of the feet. You stepped it too much.”
Carrie Ann said, “I’m proud of you for your effort, but I want to see more variety of shaping from you. With that said, I could feel the emotion you were expressing with it.”
Carrie Ann gave Nelly a 7 score, Derek a 7, Bruno a 7 for a total of 21 points.
Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko were up next with a Viennese Waltz routine. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “It was graceful, elegant, and sexy too, but your arm out of hold needs work, and so does your neck. It gets a little crooked.”
Derek said, “You’re improving each week, but you need to be a little bit more smooth with the transitions.” Bruno said, “You had very good moments, but you need to be able to sustain it better throughout the routine.”
Carrie Ann gave Chrishell & Gleb a 8 score, Derek a 8, Bruno a 8 for a total of 24 points.
Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten delivered a Salsa number. Afterwards, Carrie Ann said, “I appreciated how aggressive you were, but the landing on your lifts were a little sloppy.”
Derek said, “Your dancing was more grounded than usual, which I liked, but you had one or two lifts too many.” Bruno said, “It was like Cirque du Soleil, but the landings needed to be cleaner.”
Carrie Ann gave Skai & Alan a 8 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 8 for a total of 25 points.
Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart were up next to pull off a Foxtrot number. Afterwards, Derek said, “Shawn Mendes would be proud, but the rise and fall needs to be more gradual. It was like choppy waves instead of a swell in the ocean, and the cropped pants broke up the line of your legs a bit.”
Bruno said, “You have wonderful, sweeping movements that fill the stage, but the rise and fall needed to be smoother.” Carrie Ann said, “I appreciated the passion and storytelling. I actually liked the choppy rise and fall as an intentional choice.”
Carrie Ann gave Johnny & Britt a 9 score, Derek a 9, Bruno a 9 for a total of 27 points.
AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke hit the stage next to deliver a Rumba routine. Afterwards, Bruno said, “I was captivated by the intensity of it, but there wasn’t enough actual rumba action.”
Carrie Ann said, “It was passionate and moved up, but there wasn’t enough content or hip action, and you were a little sloppy on the edges.” Derek said, “Your sobriety journey is heroic, but the routine was short on actual rumba.”
Carrie Ann gave AJ & Cheryl a 8 score, Derek a 8, Bruno a 8 for a total of 24 points.
At this point, the contestants did a relay round. During it, Nev, Chrishell and Nelly performed a Cha, Cha routine, one by one, in that order.
Afterwards, Carrie Ann judged them saying, “Nev, you started slow, but you got a lot better. Chrishell, you had a lot of content. Nelly, you are the most improved from your first cha cha, but you need to keep your head up.”
Carrie Ann gave Nev 3 bonus points. Chrishell 2 bonus points, and Nelly 2 bonus points. Those points were tabulated into their overall scores to help them out.
The next relay round featured: Justina and Johnny dancing a Viennese Waltz in that order. Derek judged them saying, ” Justina, you were beautiful, but I wanted a little more energy. Johnny, your dance was phenomenal.”
Derek gave Justina 2 bonus points, and he gave Johnny 3 bonus points.
In the next relay round, Aj, Kaitlyn and Skai hit the stage to do the Samba in that order. Afterwards, Bruno judged them saying, “AJ, you were rhythmical. Kaitlyn, you were well placed and finished.” Skai, you were much improved, but you need to soften your bounce.”
Bruno gave Kaitlyn 3 bonus points. He gave AJ 3 bonus points. He gave Skai 2 bonus points.
Finally, they revealed that all the couples were safe ,tonight, except for Skai & Alan and Chrishell & Gleb. They were the bottom 2 vote-getters this week.
The judges could save one couple. Carrie Ann, Bruno and Derek all voted to save Skai & Alan. So, poor Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko were eliminated tonight.
