The Bachelorette July 5, 2021 Eliminated Quartney, Andrew M & Josh (Recap)

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July 5, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston did indeed air, and some more guys got sent packing.

Tonight’s episode kicked off with the former Bachelorette headliner Kaitlyn Bristowe telling Katie to expect her men to be upset that she’s bringing Blake Moynes into the house because she had a similar situation during her season.

Tayshia told the guys that Blake is going to be joining them to compete for Katie. Shortly after that, Blake came to the house to reveal himself to the guys. They immediately recognized him Tayshia’s season. Blake told them, “I understand that you guys aren’t happy to see me here. I can already feel the tension. The only reason I’m here is for Katie.”

Right after that, it was revealed that Blake got a 1 on 1 date card from Katie. That, of course, made the situation even more intense. Next, Katie arrived to talk to the guys about why she brought Blake on. She told them, ” We talked, and I felt some good chemistry between us. I do value all of my relationships here. I have to follow my heart.” The guys seem to accept that explanation as if they actually had a choice.

During Katie and Blake’s 1 on 1 date, Katie took Blake horseback riding. They talked as the road the horses. After their horseback riding adventure, they talked some more. Katie told Blake, “It’s easy to be myself with you, and you’re easy to talk to.” She mentioned that he checks a lot of boxes for her.

Blake told Katie, “This feels good and right,” and they kissed. Katie said, “You’re good kisser too.” From there, they passionately kissed while in the hay.

During the second half of their date, Blake asked Katie why she’s sex positive. In response to that question, Katie told Blake about how she was raped in the past. She said she felt very guilty about it because it was someone she knew. She had got drunk that night. She went on to pursue this guy in an effort to pretend that the rape didn’t happen. She eventually learned to look at sex in a healthy way.

Blake told Katie, “I’m sorry that happened to you. You didn’t deserve that.” Katie gave him a rose, and they kissed. Blake told the private cams, “Katie gave me truth and honesty.” Katie also took Blake to a Laine Hardy private concert. Apparently, Laine Hardy is a country music star. Katie and Blake danced and kissed during this private concert.

Next up, was the group date footage. Katie took Greg, Quartney, Aaron, Mike P, Michael A, Andrew M, Josh, Justin, Brendan, James, Connor B, Trey and Hunter to play a game of Bachelorette Bash Ball. It was a mix of basketball and football tackling.

Bachelor Nation favorites Wells Adams and Franco Acosta hosted the Bash Ball event. The rules are that the winning team got to spend more time with Katie during the afterparty.

During the Bash Ball game, things got really intense and rough. There were a lot of hard tackles made. Katie was starting to get quite nervous the more they played and got tackled. At one point, Michael A got hit really hard from behind, and he appeared to be quite hurt. Fortunately, he eventually got back up. From there, Katie stopped the game, and she told the guys, “You’re all winners, and you’re all invited to the afterparty.”

At the afterparty, Katie talked 1 on 1 with Michael A. Katie told Michael, “I got pretty emotional when you got hit.” Michael told Katie, “You bring comfort in my life,” and they kissed.

Connor B sang Katie a song. Katie teared up and gave him a hug. She told him, “That was so sweet. No one has ever done something like that for me,” and they kissed.

Trey made Katie laugh, asking her about taking some dance classes or something. Katie talked with Quartney. Katie talked with Mike,and they ended up kissing. Katie talked with Hunter. Hunter told Katie, “I’ve never introduced my kids to a women. It’s not something I take lightly.” Then, he showed her a picture of his kids. Katie loved them. Hunter told Katie, “I want my kids to meet you,” and they kissed.

Katie talked with Greg. Katie told Greg, “You have a resting sad face today.” Greg said, “I don’t want to have a sad face. I’ll do better,” and they kissed. At the end of the group date, Katie gave Hunter the group date rose.

Next, we saw footage of Katie and Andrew S’ 1 on 1 date. Katie took Andrew out into the very dark woods at night. Then some lights came on , and they opened up various envelopes that contained certain suggestions for them to do.

One of the suggestions was for them to dance. As the date continued, they talked and kissed. Andrew told Katie, “I learned from my parents not to leave your partner hanging. I don’t want to miss any moments with my kids.” Katie said, “I learned to not settle. To take the time to find your forever.”

Katie told the private cams, “I’m having such a good time with Andrew. It feels like we’ve been dating for such a long time. I just love the energy he and I share together.” Next, there was more footage of them kissing.

During the second half of their date, Andrew and Katie talked some more. Andrew told Katie, “Football was my escape. I didn’t have a relationship with my father. I want to be there for my kids. That’s all that matters to me.”

Katie said, “We want the same types of things.” Andrew asked Katie if she had any possible interracial dating issues. Katie told Andrew, “I think our love could be so beautiful. All I want in life is love.” Andrew told Katie, ” I’ve never connected with a women on this level.”

Katie told Andrew, “I think you would be the best husband, and I’m glad you’re here with me now,” and they kissed. Andrew told the private cams, “Katie is exactly the woman I’ve been looking for.” Katie told the private cams, “I’m effortlessly happy with Andrew.”

To end off their date, Katie took Andrew to get in a hot tub and drink champagne. Then, she gave him a rose, and they kissed.

During the cocktail party, Katie talked 1 on 1 Justin. They played a card question game to get to know each other better. They appeared to have a good time with it.

Katie talked with Hunter. They had drinks. James interrupted them because he felt like he needed to get his time in with Katie and Hunter already had a rose. Hunter told James, “I need at least a couple more minutes.”

James waited a little bit more and then interrupted Hunter and Katie saying, “Sorry,I’m going to have to take her from you.” James told Katie, “I hated to be that guy, but time is very precious.” Katie told James, “Absolutely, I appreciate your boldness.” They had a good talk and kissed.

The other guys agreed with James’ actions because Hunter already had a rose and was still trying to take up all of Katie’s time away from the other guys.

The other guys confronted Hunter about it too. Hunter told the private cams, “I don’t care. They’re probably right, but I’m here for Katie.”

During the rose ceremony, Katie gave roses to: Greg, Aaron, Michael A, Connor B, James, Justin, Mike P, Brendan and Trey to join Hunter, Andrew S and Blake who received roses earlier in this episode.

That means poor Quartney, Andrew M and Josh did not get a rose and had to make their elimination exits. Katie told them she was very happy to meet all of them on their way out. Katie capped off this episode by giving her remaining men a champagne toast to love.

The next, new episode of The Bachelorette 2021 edition with headliner Katie Thurston is scheduled to air next Monday night, July 12, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
