The Bachelor March 14, 2022 Convinced Rachel & Gabby To Stay. Plus, Big Shocker (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, March 14, 2022, another new episode of The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard did indeed air, and it was quite emotional and shocking.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the aftermath footage of Clayton sending Susie home after she told him she can’t be with him if he slept with and fell in love with the other women. Clayton told the private cams, “I’m hurt right now. Everything blew up, and Susie left. I’m so messed up at this point. I just don’t know what’s going to happen. I need somebody to help me because I’m just so broken.” Then, he started crying.
Clayton talked with host Jesse Palmer again about everything that happened with Susie. Clayton said, “I don’t know fully what happened ,last night, with Susie. Her blindside just shattered me. She understood and agreed with my point, but still couldn’t be with me.” He also told Jesse that he wants to tell Gabby and Rachel everything that went down with Susie at the rose ceremony.
So, that’s exactly what he did. Yep, he sure did. They rolled the rose ceremony footage ,next, and it was blow up time. Just before the rose ceremony started, Rachel got shocked to see that Susie never showed up. Gabby told her, “Anything can happen at this point.”
Next, we saw Clayton explain to Rachel and Gabby why Susie isn’t there, meaning he told them she left because he was intimate with both Gabby and Rachel. And just in case they didn’t fully understand at that point, he put the icing on this mess of a cake by telling Rachel and Gabby, “I’m in love with all of you. I tried to tell myself I wouldn’t fall in love with multiple women, but it happened.”
After that, Clayton went on to say, “I know this is hard to hear, but I do see a light at the end of the tunnel with this process. I respect whatever decision you need to make tonight.”
From there, Gabby and Rachel just walked off to process that information aka they went to go cry a lot. I mean they really did cry a lot. I think we got at least 5 minutes or so of them just weeping about what just happened.
Rachel said, “I feel like I can’t breathe. He’s in love with all 3 of us.” Later, we got footage of host Jesse confirming with Clayton that both Rachel and Gabby are extremely hurt right now.
Finally, after the ladies got all their tears out, they did come back and talk to Clayton separately. Clayton told Gabby more of what happened with Susie because Gabby wanted to know. He went on to explain to her that he wants to ultimately pick who he’s most in love with at the end.
Gabby didn’t like the way Clayton worded that and walked off again telling the private cams, “I don’t think he’s being fair right now. ‘The one I love the most’ is the wrong answer. Love can’t be measured. I just wanna be loved for who I am.”
Meanwhile, Rachel told the private cams, “I’m heartbroken. I never thought there would be a chance he would be in love with all of us. I need to talk with him and get clarity.” Rachel told Clayton, “I’m in a lot of pain. It just feels like it wasn’t special.” Clayton said, “It was special. The love that I feel for you is just different for what I feel for Gabby because you are two different people.”
Rachel said, “I feel like my heart is breaking.” Then, she cried some more saying, “It’s just so hard that the love I feel for you is the same that you feel for 2 other women. I’m just really scared. I really am. I feel like our love is worth it. I just don’t know if I can handle it.” Clayton said, “I do love you. My parents are here, and I want you to meet them.” Then, they hugged. Rachel told the private cams, “I don’t know what to do. I’m just so in love with him. It hurts so bad.”
Next, we got footage of Rachel and Gabby returning to the rose ceremony. Clayton told them, “I want to apologize for putting you both through this tonight. I do understand that you can choose not to accept the rose if you can’t handle this. I just appreciate you giving me the time to talk about it with you.”
Rachel accepted the rose, but Gabby didn’t accept the rose saying, “I can’t. I’m sorry. Do you wanna walk me out?” Clayton said yes and walked her out. Gabby told Clayton, “I don’t want to be the most loved. You can’t measure it.” Clayton said, “I’m sorry you took it that way. I don’t want you to walk away because I do see something special with us. Is your heart telling you to walk out, or do you want give it another chance?” Gabby said, “I don’t know. I can’t do this. I can’t.”
Meanwhile, Rachel started asking herself, “Do I still stay since I’m the last one. It doesn’t seem fair, but I’m so in love with him.” Next, Clayton was seen walking Gabby back to the rose ceremony after apparently convincing her to stay. He gave Gabby the rose, and she did accept it that time.
Then, Clayton told Rachel and Gabby, “I’m sorry to put you both through this pain. I don’t have all the answers. I’m just excited for you to meet my parents.” Gabby and Rachel both agreed there’s no perfect thing to say right now
Gabby told the private cams, “I was really ready to leave, but I’m trusting that our relationship was unique. However, I might be kicking myself next week.”
Next, there was a segment where host Jesse talked with Bachelor Nation favorites: Michelle Young, Nick Viall and Claire Crawley. Claire said Clayton didn’t handle it well, but she hopes he does find love. Nick talked about how Clayton conveniently left out the fact that he told Susie he loved her the most.
After all of that, they showed footage of Clayton greeting his family. He told them everything that happened with all the women and how he fell in love with all three of them. Clayton’s father Brian said, “It made sense that Susie wanted to leave. I love you no matter what happens, but you screwed the pooch with this one. We’ll see what happens.” Clayton’s mother Kelly said, “I don’t know how you can fall in love with three women.”
When Gabby arrived, she greeted Clayton with a hug and kiss. Clayton told her, “I’m really excited to have you here and meet my family.” Clayton’s family greeted her with hugs and smiles, and they talked about the rose ceremony debacle.
Kelly told Gabby, “If you’re the one, I would be very happy” even before talking with her. The did eventually go and talk. Gabby said, “I don’t think I could give up a man like Clayton without seeing it through. I never met anyone as genuine and open-hearted as him.” Kelly said, “Gabby seems like a very caring person, and they may be stronger because of what happened.”
Gabby spoke with Brian. He told her, “You seem to have a good sense of humor. I respect that you walked away. For you to come back was pretty amazing.” Gabby said, “I just want you to know I don’t think any less of Clayton. I’m so happy to be here.” Brian said, “I really like Gabby, and I’m impressed that she came to meet Clayton’s family after everything that happened.”
At the end, Gabby told Clayton, “I’m glad I came back to meet your family. I think I made the right decision.”
Next, it was Rachel’s turn. She told the private cams, “I have different emotions, but I’m really excited to meet Clayton’s parents. I’m still hurt from the rose ceremony.” Rachel greeted Clayton with a hug and kiss. Clayton told Rachel, “I’m so very thankful you stuck this out with me. I’m excited for you to meet my family.”
Clayton’s family greeted Rachel with hugs and smiles. Rachel talked with mamma Kelly. Rachel told Kelly, “I was so hurt at the rose ceremony. It was hard for me to understand how he can be in love with three people. However, I’m still so in love with him. I think our relationship deserves for me to work it out.” Rachel also said that she would accept Clayton’s proposal. Kelly told Rachel, “The fact that you chose to stay spoke volumes about you as a person.”
Rachel spoke with daddy Brian. Rachel told Brian, “I’ve never been in love the way that I’m in love with Clayton. I do trust Clayton.” Brian said, “I would’ve smacked him.” Rachel said, “I’m so in love with Clayton.” Brian said, “I’m happy to hear that. I’m excited to see where your journey goes.”
Rachel told the private cams, “I know Clayton’s also in love with Gabby, but I really want it to be me and him in the end.”
Next, we got Clayton telling the private cams he was still thinking about Susie after Gabby and Rachel met his family. Meanwhile, Clayton’s family said they approved of either Gabby or Rachel. At this point, Clayton dropped another shocker by telling his family that his heart is still with Susie, and he wants to go back and try to pursue her instead.
His family told him, “But, Susie left you.” Clayton’s argument to that was that he got so caught up in the emotions of the moment that he didn’t let her continue to try and talk about it, and that she was trying to talk about it with him.
Clayton’s family was still quite adamant that pursuing Susie is probably a bad idea, but if that’s what he has to do. Then , that’s what he has to do. Clayton said he’s fully prepared to get his heart broken by Susie, but he wants to give it a shot.
The footage capped off with host Jesse telling Clayton that Susie is still actually in Iceland. So, he’s going to go try to win her back in tomorrow’s finale episode.
Jesse did talk with more Bachelor Nation favorites: Kaitlyn Bristowe, Rodney Mathews and Cassie Randolph. Kaitlyn said, “Clayton has to pursue the one he really sees his life with even if it doesn’t work.” Cassie said, “I hope Susie looks at it for what it is, and not for what she wants it to be and sticks with her intuition.” And that was the episode, guys.
The finale episode of The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard is scheduled to air tomorrow night, March 15, 2022 at approximately 7 pm central standard time.
