911 AKA 9-1-1 Season 5, May 16, 2022 Episode 18 Is The Finale. Season 6 Is Happening
Hey,”9-1-1″ fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed and savored every friggin minute of episode 18 ,tonight, especially since it was the very last episode of this current season 5. Yep, that’s right, guys. Episode 18 was indeed the season 5 finale episode. That means you won’t be seeing any new episodes for quite some time.
On a more positive note, we have been able to confirm that you will get to see more new episode of 9-1-1 at some point in the future because the people over at FOX did finally renew 9-1-1 for a brand new season 6 just this afternoon, May 16, 2022, according to TVguide.com !
Actually, there had been some delays in the negotiation process for this season 6 renewal. According to the folks over at Deadline.com , FOX was in negotiations to renew 9-1-1 for a new season 6 all last night, May 15, 2022, and they could not yet close the deal by this morning, May 16, 2022.
Apparently, FOX had spent most of their time focusing on making tough choices for the more questionable shows before getting around to making deals for their longtime running shows. Then, 9-1-1 actually ended up taking longer than they expected to make a deal.
Deadline’s sources also said that these negotiations for 9-1-1’s season 6 renewal have been made more complicated, this year, due to the fact that 9-1-1 and FOX are no longer part of the same company since Disney purchased studio 20th Television. One of their FOX sources said, “I liked it better when we were vertically integrated.”
Before the season 6 renewal went through, Deadline did mention that FOX Entertainment CEO stated, “We are in good-faith negotiations on 9-1-1 and The Resident. Based on the long history with 20th Television, I think we are in pretty good shape.
We adore Ryan and are so pleased that Lone Star is locked and loaded.” Apparently, they were actually able to renew 9-1-1’s spin off show 9-1-1: Lone Star before getting 9-1-1 renewed. 9-1-1 is one of FOX’s top scripted shows and has been for multiple years now.
9-1-1’s current season 5 averaged 5.195 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.76 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 17, which aired last Monday night,May 9, 2022, drew in 5.296 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.70 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 2 with 5.453 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 12 with 4.966 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 9 with a 0.88 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 13 with a 0.62 ratings score. Yep, those numbers do indeed look very solid. It’s easy to see why FOX was finally able to get a deal made to renew 9-1-1 for a brand new season 6.
Currently, it is not yet known when season 6 will debut, or how many episodes it will feature. We’ll have to give you those important details at a later date when FOX releases them.
