The White Lotus Season 2, December 11, 2022 Episode 7 Is The Finale. Season 3 Is Happening
Hey, “The White Lotus” fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed the heck out of episode 7 tonight, especially since it was indeed the very last episode of its current season 2. That’s right, guys. HBO only ordered 7 measly little episodes for season 2 of The White Lotus. So, it’s already over as of tonight.
However, we do have some really good news for you guys because we can officially tell you that The White Lotus isn’t over for good. Oh, no, no,no. Far from it. According to the folks over at TVLine.com, HBO went ahead and gave The White Lotus an early, season 3, renewal green light back in the middle of November 2022. So, The White Lotus will be returning with another season of brand new episodes at some point in the future.
Currently, we’re not sure when the new season 3 will arrive or how many episodes it will feature. We’ll have to serve up that info at a later date after HBO reveals it. The people over at TV Line did give out some interesting info for season 3. They’re saying that it will feature a new cast at a new, White Lotus location. There’s also a possibility that Jennifer Coolidge will reprise her Tanya McQuoid character.
During the renewal announcement, The White Lotus’ creator Mike White had some very nice things to say about his team stating, “There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO, and there’s no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team. I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators on The White Lotus.”
The head of HBO drama Francesca Orsi also said some very nice things about the show stating, “Reflecting on The White Lotus’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows. And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision.
His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and buoyant directing style, have us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to adore. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together.”
The White Lotus season 2 averaged 516,000 LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.08 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 6, which aired last Sunday night, December 4, 2022, drew in 684,000 LIVE viewers, and a 0.10 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was episode 6 with 684,000 LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 4 with 416,000 LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was episode 5 with a 0.11 ratings score. The lowest-rated episodes were episodes 1 and 3. They tied for last place with a 0.06 ratings score. These were just the numbers for the LIVE Neilson ratings. We’re pretty sure the show pulled in more numbers through the streaming platforms.
