Rapper Tory Lanez Officially Found Guilty Of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion Today
According to a new report from TMZ.com ,Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Tory Lanez was officially found guilty of shooting female rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot way back in 2020.
The jury reached their decision earlier today, December 23, 2022. They decided Tory was guilty of all the three charges that were brought up against him, which were: felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.
TMZ also revealed that Tory’s family had a few choice words to say after the verdict was read as they shouted out, “This system stands before God!” They called the court system evil. After that outburst, they were escorted out of the courtroom by deputies that were on hand.
As a result of this guilty verdict, TMZ says that Tory could get locked up for 22 whopping years in prison! His sentencing is reportedly scheduled to take place on Friday, January 27, 2023. It’s also reported that Tory’s lawyers were told there is a high probability that Tory will be forced to go back to Canada.
This court case went on for a reported two, whole weeks. During it, Megan testified against Tory saying she saw Tory with the gun and that he shot at her from his Cadillac Escalade vehicle and said, “Dance, b#%tch!” Additionally, Megan said that Tory tried to bribe her with a $million dollars to keep her mouth shut about it.
The defense for Tory tried to accuse Megan of not revealing that she had an intimate relationship with Tory, and that she lied to the police about how her foot got injured. Tory’s defense also tried to claim that Megan’s ex-BFF Kelsey was actually the shooter, and that her motive had to do with some creeping around behind her back with Ben Simmons, DaBaby and Tory.
Kelsey did testify and say that she did not shoot Megan. However, she wasn’t willing to say that Tory shot Megan. TMZ did point out that in a previous interview back in September 2022, Kelsey did say Tory shot Megan, and the prosecutors were allowed to play footage from that interview in the courtroom.
As for the physical evidence, they’re saying it wasn’t very strong. They found gun residue on both Kelsey and Tory. The DNA that they found on the gun came back inconclusive. It’s reported that Tory never testified in this case, andf neither did his driver from that night Jaquan Smith. Stay tuned for more details on the sentencing at a later date.
